A Day of Reckoning Coming Soon
Perhaps next week?

If the day has arrived when the President of United States can admit to breaking the law, then brag about, then say he will continue to do it, and then have the Congress of the United States do nothing about it, then we have reached a day of reckoning. Next week, there will be hearing in Arlen Specter's Committee. If they cover up, make excuses, mostly minimize the laws of the land, then we have crossed a threshhold of some significant circumstance. If they show total disregard for the law, like their leaders in the executive branch, then we are in for a long hot summer. The elections in November may be our last best hope to save our nation? If it is not too late...

1. I think it's too late.
Does anyone really expect the committee to do anything? I think not.

And then we have rumors of another SCOTUS retirement, which would lead to a rethug lock on the court. Does anyone really believe the elections won't be "managed" by Diebold?

It is too late. I do not know what the future will bring; I doubt it will be pleasant.

Please convince me I'm wrong.

2. I'm sorry, but you are right.
There will be blood in the streets before this is over - and we may not like how it ends...

4. The whole world has an interest in us defeating the Republicans
I think it's time we liberals hit up Europe and Asia for support against the fascist element of this country.

7. I tried contacting their ambassadors over a year ago,
all I got was a lousy wiretap and my mail read. Seriously.

Of course no one believed me then.

In peace and hope,
V

10. Will you be my friend?
I won't associate with anyone without a file. You're now a member of the elite! Be proud!

Fuck you Agent Mike! your a traitor and a criminal with a badge. Fuck you in the heart. Hope your not wearing the same worthless DOD approved vest my son is. Come for coffee, I have quite a well documented list of felonies, currently being commited, by criminal elements high up in US government. Not interested, are you?

Cause really, I'm payin your salary, and I really expect better results than this. Does your father know what a failure you are at your job agent mike? Would your mother be proud of your defense of facists?

14. I will proudly be your friend SS! I think I was on the list
further back than that though. I wrote a paper on Mussolini in 5th grade that caused quite an uproar in 1967 and I was reading Mao and Marx from the library the next couple of years.

My family forced me to join the Rainbow Girls at 12 and I quit by sending a letter to the Eastern Stars calling them racists/fascists. My g-uncle/godfather was a 32nd degree Mason so you can imagine how well that went over.

I hope your son stays safe. I'll keep him in my thoughts!

Talk to you later my friend, keep me updated on how your boy is doing. :hi:

In peace and hope,
V

Hey Agent Mike, you can tell your boss to kiss my ass! And if I was your mother I would NOT be proud of you at all. Shame on you!

15. Clinton was trashed for ...
... taking campaign contributions from China. The system is set up such that nobody from outside the US can influence internal, American politics.

We are on our own.

3. A new DSM memo will be out tomorrow. If Dems can't get the nation
behind them to impeach this President and make his administration resign in disgrace after the Budget cutting bill, oil company profits, tax breaks for the wealthy, Medicare fiasco, spygate, Plamegate, Iraq rebuilding corruption, Abramoff scandals then we will have truly lost our nation.

8. no reason it can't it go on like this for the foreseeable future
Making excuses, covering up, lying, etc. Democrats too weak and fragmented to be an effective opposition party. Controlling party stealing elections and getting away with it because they own the media. Corruption continues unabated because of poor press coverage. We've been living this way for five years now and I don't really see anything that's going to stop it, especially after watching the ineffective way the Democrats handled Alito.

I'm starting to think that this is just the way life is going to be in America and I think others are, too. That's why so many DU-ers are talking about jumping ship. The reality is that this is what our country is and they find it intolerable and unlikely to change--so they're leaving.

9. I'm having a bad feeling . . .in the pit of my stomach. . .
visceral certainty that, as every Bush scandal goes unpunished or glossed-over, we are not going to be free of this regime until:
~there's another major economic depression, or
~the working/middle classes riot
With these choices, I'm hoping for just a depression. . .though that could lead to riots as well.

What gets me the most is how Patrick Fitzgerald's email evidence just vanished. . .and there is no MSM/Congressional outrage. . .this obstruction of justice is very troubling to me. . .more than anything else besides the needless killing going on in Iraq.
:scared:

11. They are expecting
major unrest from the People. Why do you think they are pushing the "patriot" act, it clearly is directed at US. They are blatantly trying to protect themselves from the citizens, NOT trying to protect the citizens. It is plain as day, so I guess one of my biggest questions would be, where is the supposed opposition of this one? My sad guess, it will pass with overwhelming support.

12. Don't forget Jebbie shredding Abramoff documents by the truckload
America was such a beautiful country. Perfect...no. Capable of committing atrocities? What nation isn't, yet we likely have committed far fewer than most nations (in our weight class).

And now it is gone, it is almost certain the loss is irrevocable (yet there still remains a 5% hope)

RIP America 1776-2000

13. It's too late.
The "day of reckoning" has come and gone. There is not Executive Branch accountability any longer, unless it is over lying about a blow-job.

The President is free to lie, go to illegal pre-emptive war, allow an antire city of inconvenient poor Black people to die or have their lives ruined forever, dismantle the Constitution, stack the Supreme Court... whatever... now. And, with impugnity. The large majority of the public is too uninformed, the Republican "base" is too organized, and the Democratic Party Electeds are too cowardly. He's got it locked down already.

Now, if he gets a blow-job and lies about it.... heck, I think he'd get away with that, too... maybe. It's bigger than dead soldiers and poor people... again, maybe.
