Chimpy's suddenly become the "Most popular president in US history".That's how they will spin it going into his damn bumbling speech tomorrow night. I'm not watching that ignorant bastard make an ass out of himself over and over again. He makes my teeth hurt.

4. Probably "explosive" numbers showing that
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 06:31 PM by kenny blankenship
a slim majority of dumbfucks approve of warrantless wiretaps (without understanding that nothing prevents the President from legallly obtaining the wiretaps to monitor possible communications of citizens with outside terrorist organizations as the law stands--if he would just deign to follow the Constitution and established law)
And possibly in addition, Tweety will tout some numbers showing a slim majority of burger-slurping shitheads think we should start a war with Iran, too.

From which he'll probably conclude that Bush is now Dictator For Life George the First, the annointed right hand of God.

38. Anyone See the LA Times Today?
There was a political cartoon showing Bush making the SOTU speech, & the room looked just like a sports stadium, with corporate sponsors & everything. It was even in color, & the Times rarely does that with political cartoons. That had to be the best political cartoon I have seen in awhile. One of the corporate sponsors was Halliburton, another Fox News.

but after experiencing the propaganda machinery of the Bush era (not to mention their electoral procedures), I'd like to know something:

How the hell, and based on what evidence, do we actually know that "Most Germans Approved of Hitler"??

President facing ‘gray and gloomy’ electorate

By Mark Murray

WASHINGTON - Heading into Tuesday's State of the Union address and the beginning of the 2006 political season, President Bush faces an electorate that continues to be dissatisfied with his job performance, increasingly wants U.S. soldiers to come home from Iraq, and believes the Republican Party is associated more with special interests and lobbyists, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll...

<snippers>

...The survey, which was conducted from Jan. 26-29 of 1,011 adults and which has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, shows Bush’s approval rating at 39 percent, which is unchanged from last month’s NBC/Journal poll. (Other recent national surveys have shown his approval rating to be slightly higher, in the low 40s.) In addition, only 25 percent say they want to see Bush take the lead role in setting policy for the country, while 49 percent say they prefer Congress...

19. When they use terrorism , people will always go for whatever
But when they find out its illegal , Americans always "turn" on whatever. Thats always been that way. You could get them to say whatever you want when you put it with BinLaden or terrorism. Dont fret. It really isnt important. The thing that sticks out in a recent poll was how the people preferred Democratic ideoloogy ,in government, to repig by a huge margin. It was really surprising to me that it was so dominant.

23. The polls that he
is using show that Bush is not getting the boost in the ratings that he had hoped for, and that the numbers on the domestic spying depend largely upon how the questions are posed. As long as people believe that only al Qaeda members in the Middle East are being spied on, they are in favor of the program; when they are asked about a broader program, they begin to oppose it. This seems rather obvious and expected. The progressive forces need to help the public connect NSA domestic spying with the much larger program, which is coordinated with other federal intelligence agencies, as well as state and local police agencies.

33. He had that sheepish chagrined look on his face like he REALLY
believed that *'s poll bounceback would actually last. Tweety tried to be a little more cool and non chalant about it but you could tell that he also thought * had overcome the poll numbers. And the poll number that said, get this....hold on to your hat...that only 25% of respondents said they wanted the country to go in the direction that * wants versus, 49% for congress. They were like damn! Even with all of the corruption in congress people prefer congress to *. What the dummies didn't realize or did realize but tried to spin it for the congressional repukes is that that 49% is probably for a DEMOCRATIC congress versus a bi partisan congress.

44. I accidentally had that repulsive creature on tonight
Granted he only polluted my living room for a very brief time period...

I booted my daughter off of the TV downstairs and she changed it to MSNBC (trying to suck up because she got in trouble at school today/ thinking that was the channel I wanted)

There sat fat tweety in all his malignant splendor yukking it up with Whora O'Donnell about bushit and his state of the union tomorrow night.

Whatever was said it was ugly--lots of rah rah bushit and "he can pull it together" type crap...I have blocked it out, because it was too repugnant to retain... but it was a whole "How can we save the bushit presidency" fest and advice to the asshole on how to do it.

Maybe it's just me... but I don't recall a time (other than now) where the goal of every *news* show, was about how the pResident could get himself back in good graces in a country of voters, who hate him.

As to Tim Russert -- God who can explain THAT particular phenomena?
