1. C-Span3???? Arrrgh.
I think they call it C-Span 3 because that's how many people have access to it.

:grr:

Hopefully someone will post a thread in real time filling us in on what he says.

2. At least it means CSPAN will be taping it.
We have to push them now to rebroadcast this on a channel that people actually can watch.

I do know and that's what I do, but my eyes are not so good and I always wish I could watch on a big screen. I get only CNN as a news station where I live. It's a drag. I miss PBS and C-span the most.

Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 10:30 AM by Tom Rinaldo
I am not 100% confident that this mistake is not intentional. I didn't tell them that I was tuning in to watch the Real State of the Union Conference, just that it said Mine Safety was being shown but that wasn't what was on. If I called again I would say when I clicked on CSPAN3 it said what I was looking for wasn't there. Here is CSPAN's phone number: (202) 737-3220

45. Speech here
http://securingamerica.com/node/560

Will we choose to emphasize boastful rhetoric or constructive engagement abroad? Will we lash out in anger with military force, or will we pursue every reasonable avenue to avoid the terrible destruction of war? Will we “fight fire with fire,” relying on the means and techniques of our adversaries, or live and lead by the higher standard of the values we have professed? At home, will we persist in shortsighted partisanship, or will we follow a stronger vision to the deep reforms needed to secure our future? Will it be selfishness or shared sacrifice that is our rallying cry?

These are the choices before us.

My Prez :yourock:

53. Congress needs to show resolve
First, we’ve got to set things right at home. Protecting our Constitution comes first. Country before Party. Congress must fulfill its duties to the American people, not rollover for favors from the Executive branch. We need a full, in-depth, bipartisan investigation of the Administration’s bypassing of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Congress needs to show resolve that the laws it passes do bind the executive branch, whether in wiretapping, humane treatment of prisoners, or the freedom of information act. Moreover, it is time for a special prosecutor, independent of the Department of Justice, to be empowered to investigate the Abramoff scandal, and pursue the leads all the way through Congress and up to the highest office in the land, if necessary.

71. I watched it with my hubby online last night.
I nearly cried in parts: why is this man not our president?

And, the next time some media fucker says Democrats have no solutions, I'm emailing them parts of this speech. Idiots want to NOT cover this man and then try to LIE to me and TELL me that the Dems have no solutions. Lying jerks.

Compare this speech to blivet's teleprompted speech tonight (which Wes made fun of at the very start and then proceeded to give an incredible 40-minute speech without ONCE looking at a note), and see how much we're missing substance over biligerent rhetoric.

Such a shame we continue to let the corporate media pick our candidates (no offense to Kerry, whom I liked, but knew he couldn't win in a hoped-for landslide or anywhere near it, which we need).
