Edited on Fri Jan-13-06 01:25 AM by in_cog_ni_to

I'm listening to Majority Report and Ralph Nees from The People for an American Way was on and made this comment about Arlen. I scarfed down my dinner, jumped on the internet(s) and went to his site and HERE IT IS!! See below.

As Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter wrote in his 2000 book, Passion for Truth:

“The Senate should resist, if not refuse to confirm Supreme Court nominees who refuse to answer questions on fundamental issues. In voting on whether or not to confirm a nominee, senators should not have to gamble or guess about a candidate’s philosophy, but should be able to judge on the basis of the candidate’s expressed views.”

9. Shit, if that's all it takes...
I wanna be a justice. I can sit there for 3 days and not answer questions from a bunch of asshole Senators. I could probably even convince my wife to squeeze out a tear or two although that would be tough because she has a bit of integrity.

10. Gives the Lie to the Assertion that Specter was on the Fence..
I just heard that remark by Specter, what an insult. in other words, my grandmother should serve on the court, she's deceased now, but she died in a very poised and dignified manner.

ok, that was very bad joke..

I just now heard Lindsay Graham make his outrageous remarks, "we'er not going to give Liberals the power to pick judges".

Specter is nowhere as near the middle as some thought

no filibuster is coming

if we want to block, or better yet, pick judges, we need to win elections

It's likely not poise but pois-on they meant to write... lots of Nazis like his brand of cultural poison but I doubt if many of them are informed women or minorities.
