impeachment would make matters worse.
(I have been thinking along these lines for quite some time--unless they are all carted off to the Hague, things won't improve)

Impeachment Would Make Matters Worse
by David Rossie

Well, it's finally out there, the I word.
Arlen Specter let it slip last Sunday on one of the morning blab shows. He mentioned it in the context of the Cheney/Bush administration's apparently illegal use of the National Security Agency to eavesdrop on Americans.

Specter did not advocate impeachment. He mentioned it only as a possibility should it be found that Bush acted illegally when he authorized the NSA to eavesdrop without notifying a special federal court as required under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

"I don't see any talk of impeachment here," Specter said during ABC-TV's This Week show. But, he added, he and his fellow Republicans would not give the president "a blank check" in the matter.

That would be a change in itself, and while Specter didn't say where "here" was, there has been an increasing amount of impeachment talk in the wake of the administration's latest abuse of the Constitution.

. . . . . . . . . .

3. When a president commits high crimes and misdemeanors,
it is REQUIRED that there be an investigation and then, if warranted, an impeachment.

Throwing a mother of six into prison for theft also makes matters worse for the family, but there you have it.

4. I distinctly remember the 'I' word being used right after the Iraq
invasion by those of use who knew he lied. And I can't see why we can't impeach both * and the VP. And if he's that stupid, why is he still president? I will really burn my britches to see those two incompetent, lying, murderous creeps get their $400,000 a year federal retirement after they're out of office. Impeach, try and find guilty and they loose their pensions. At least give me that. Every dime they own should be taken and put in the federal budget for what those two have done to this country.

5. It's a pipe dream..
Bush frog marched out of the white house, after a fair and honest election restores the house and senate to the democrats. Yea, Right.
Even if such a miracle occured you would have to then also impeach Cheney, and then Hastert. Dreaming about impeachment, wonderful as it sounds is like smoking crack. I hate the fact that America, My America has been hurt so badly but we have to face reality GWB will not be impeached.

7. before everyone gets all excited about the "i" word
let's try and get the house and senate back first. let's face it, this matter has to go through sensebrenner (sp) first, and that ain't gonna happen.
