Election 2004 = Cakewalk. Relax.
My post is a post of optimism and hope, because there are two Americas. One is the Bush America, right? Where everybody loves Bush and he could never be beaten. Then there's the other America, the one where you and I live. And where about 75% of America lives, according to a recent poll.

In the REAL America, Bush has engaged us in a war for weapons of mass destruction that his own inspector and Secretary of State now say never existed. He's taken us from a budget surplus to a deficit in the hundreds of billions. He's spent billions to launch us to Mars when here in Atlanta they're increasing taxes 120% to save the water system. His number one propagandist is up on illegal drug charges, and my mom said even Rush was bashing Bush today about sending us to Mars while we have a deficit! And his constituency is scratching their heads over this illegal immigration plan.

So in conclusion I would like to say that we're wringing our hands for nothing. I get the feeling we could run a mossy rock and win against Bush this time. And we're gonna beat him, and we'll beat him again, and we'll beat him again! That's what we're gonna do! That's what you and I will do together!

:toast"

11. Montanans for ABB
Hi Dinoboy
I too feel I'm an island of hope in a state that voted Martz into office and still supports Bush blindly.

But MT did go Blue in 96 and there is hope. My wife and I down here in Billings are gathering support and aim to have MT go ABB.

We have put together several meetings and plan to spread the word every weekend

We display our Buzzflash "Save America / Recall Bush" stickers on our cars; and politely wave to the disgruntled stares and occasional fingers we get on Grand AVE.

To the original post: We shall rejoice in a hard earned VICTORY in NOV.

3. I will vote ABB
BUT, if Dean gets the nom, it will be the FIRST time that I will vote and not have to plug my nose.

4. I'll toast to that!
:toast: Bush is toast*

*We just gotta keep an eye on the BBV threat that could game the results. Personally, I think the public sentiment is growing too loud against this administration and the American public will vote so overwhelming against Bush, that the results will be impossible to freep.

5. I used to box
and I learned an important lesson: the only "easy" fights are the ones you are well prepared for. If you don't prepare properly, an otherwise easy fight can be very tough. Never take this election for granted. It is too important. Invest time and energy. Register as many people as you can. Try to educate people about the issues important to them, to you, and to the country. If we work hard, we will have a big win. But it WILL TAKE LOTS OF HARD WORK!!!!

6. Bush America votes, so we'd better vote too
And apparently, Bush America has a much easier time getting its votes to count. Something's gotta give, or 75% of America is going to be stuck in pigshit again in 2004.

7. In 2000, many , many, many people said "There is no way
anybody as stupid and unqualified as George Bush Junior can be elected president of the United States". In 1980, many, many, many people said "There is no way anybody as crooked and arrogant as Ronald Reagan can be elected president of the United States". In 1968 many, many, many people said there is no way a washed up asshole like Richard Nixon can be elected president of the United States.

The more things change, the more they stay the same...

8. Edwards' speech
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 02:02 AM by ArtieBoy
By the way, for anyone who's not a heavy C-SPAN watcher, the opening and closing of my post borrow heavily from John Edwards' stump speech. What can I say, I love that speech and quote it to people all the time!

<On edit> And I'm not saying don't get out and vote or educate your friends on the issues. I'm just saying all this nitpicking of our candidates is probably uneccesary. People are ready for a change, period. All of these guys are "electable."

10. We WILL Win. But I won't relax...
...I'm going to fight for it. It's no time to rest on our laurels. This is more important than ever and I refuse to look back and think I could've done more...

...and winning the White House isn't enough. We need to win the Senate and the House and how about a few governorships while we're at it?

Nope. No time to relax...

12. I'll relax when bush leaves the whitehouse next January
and not a moment before.

With any luck, he'll immortalize his reign of error by tripping on the steps on his way out.
