Lieberman ready to drop out tomorrow....?
With the latest poll that came out today that shows Lieberman in 2nd place in Delaware behind Kerry, will he announce tomorrow that he is dropping out of the race? Yes, he has talked a good game up to now but Joe is a realist. He will not say who he will support yet. He will wait until it is more of a sure thing....like after Feb 3rd. :)
I do not have a named source for this report...But Drudge may report it later..

1. Safe bet
is that Joe will stay in until the Connecticut polls start coming out. If they are dire, he will probably get out so as not to get clobbered in his home state. Just a guess, tho.

3. Good point. I doubt the Delaware poll would do it, but the Conn. one
certainly could.

5. I think he will definitely get out before the Connecticut primary....
That would be too embarrassing. However, I think this is going thru his mind because he did not show up for the debate this AM in SC....

2. Joe's not going to drop out because of one poll.
After 2/3, maybe. Tomorrow? I doubt it.

first off, Joe staying in helps the democratic establishment. Now that Kerry is viable, maintaining the status quo will help Kerry back his way in by holding down voting blocks. People moving around could change too many equations.

Besides... i doubt Joe wants to be out before Sharpton - unless it looks likely that Sharpton would get delegates.

It's actually pretty sad. This guy did some really good things in the old days - and he's going to be remembered forever by a new Websters entry.

Joementum
Main Entry: Joe·men·tum
Pronunciation: 'jo-m&n-tum
Function: noun
Etymology: New Latin, from Latin, movement and Joe Lieberman's disastrous 2004 presidential campaign
1 : dramatic and precipitous weakness gained by motion or through the development of events : NEGATIVE IMPETUS <the campaign gained joementum, and the candidate went back to working at Walmart>

8. Sharpton has promised to
stay until the very end so that he can continue to remind democrats of the people who are not being represented and I doubt Lieberman will make it through the end.

What's really sad is the paragraph on 'Joementum'. Here's a bit of his bio:

'Lieberman has fought to knock down barriers, stop discrimination, and extend the promise of America to all our people. In the 1960s, Joe joined thousands to hear Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the historic March on Washington, and led a group of students to Mississippi to fight for African-Americans' right to vote.

As Connecticut's Attorney General from 1983 to 1988, Joe stood with single moms against deadbeat dads, fought corporations that broke the law to prey on consumers, and prosecuted polluters to make them pay. And in the Senate over the last 14 years, he's continued to lead -- guided not by partisan politics, but by his principles -- and to fight for what's right for America.'

I don't think he deserves the disrespect he receives on DU - go ahead and flame me.

10. Even if he finishes behind Kerry
If he's looking at more than 15% I bet he'll stay in to get some delegates.
