voter registration -- Massachusetts
I posted this a few weeks ago, but the deadline to register is coming up, so here it is again:

The deadline to register for the March 2 primary in Massachusetts is 20 days before the primary. That's Wednesday, February 11.

You can go to your city or town hall, or use the internet to request that voter registration forms be mailed to you. You can request up to 100. Go here to make a request.

I've ordered 10 of these so I can get my close friends registered in time. They're all pretty progressive, but they seem to have the "not-voting disease" that affects most twenty-somethings.

Doin' what I can...

6. there's plenty of point to registering and voting in MA ....
there is often far more on the ballot than just presidential candidates ...

you probably haven't noticed this, but Massachusetts, the "democrats only state", hasn't elected a democratic governor in a very, very long time ... too much has been taken for granted by democrats in this state ... we've grown very lazy ... and the people running the democratic establishment are insiders in the worst way ...

we need to organize, we need to energize, we need to register and we need to vote ... the democratic wing of the democratic party has been asleep for far too long ...

get out there and do something ... and check out this link to the Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts ... i just learned about this organization last Saturday ... here's a link to their website:

7. thanks for the link!
I'll have to have a good look at that site.

I've been active in the Graduate Employee Organization at UMass for a couple years now, and it amazes me how hard the Mass. legislature has to be pushed to do anything the least bit progressive. Like actually fund collectively bargained contracts.
