Yay!!! The STL Post-Dispatch Printed My LTTE!!
My first confirmed LTTE publication...

Government spying: No more Big Brother

"Big Brother is watching." We've all heard that phrase when discussing our government, no matter who's in charge. But at that time, we could at least take solace in the knowledge that there were laws and restrictions that would protect the privacy of American citizens.

Unfortunately, that solace has been stripped away over the last five years. We recently learned that the Department of Defense has been infiltrating "terrorist" organizations within our borders. Such "terrorist" organizations include war protesters, peaceniks, civil rights activists and those absolutely menacing Quakers. Little old ladies in Florida baking cookies and talking about being against the war are now a "terrorist threat." And the National Security Agency was exposed for spying on people in this country without a warrant. Apparently, this order came directly from President George W. Bush. That's illegal. It flies in the face of our Constitution and is an impeachable offense. With our climate of fear and fear-mongering, we allow a president to act more like a czar to "protect us from terrorism." My definition of terrorism must differ from that of the White House.

We are going down a very dangerous path in this country. It's time that we end this culture of fear and take back our rights as Americans.

24. Yup. All the brains of a mushroom...

If one person is saved by the National Security Agency spying on a phone call, it is worth it. If one child is saved by the NSA spying on a phone call, it is worth It. If one terrorist is stopped by the NSA spying on a phone call, it is worth it.

:wtf:

perfect message ...

it's great that it puts fundamental American freedoms ahead of partisanship ... that's the most effective message we can deliver ... it spans right, center and left on the political spectrum ...

very powerful ...

25. Lots of expansion going on, but no good new jobs.
Go figure.

Basketball team sucks this year. Football team is marginal.

Real estate moguls making millions subsidized by the city tax dollars. Same old, same old.

28. Good letter
And a nice lesson for all of us in how to write a letter. It's short, sticks to one subject, has a nice little intro, a good meaty middle, and ends with a simple declarative sentence about what the writer thinks should be done. Textbook example.
