Did my old ears (and eyes) deceive me?
Or is Wolf Blitzer - on the latter segment of The Situation Room - just now act like a real JOURNALIST?

I mean, he nailed John Cornyn about a claim he made regarding Jamie Gorelick testifying about Clinton's trying to get authority for warrantless searches, gave former Senator Graham the last word, and then read Gorelick's statement about how what Cornyn said was patently untrue.

He pressed Cornyn more than once to answer a question, and, after reading Gorelick's denial, promised that they'd ask Cornyn about the claim to see how he could defend what he had maintained.

This is how a ::::: gasp ::::: real journalist would act.

Did I just imagine the whole thing?

1. It was just a momentary aberration
His puppet masters will have a talk with him and he'll be back to normal.

9. See,
I think he's someone's bot, but with Wolf, it's almost impossible to tell if he's human or animatronic.

hard on BushCo today. Doesn't it seem to you that the Internet blogs to cable news lag time has shrunk from days to hours recently?

26. I don't know,
but let this be a warning to you - watch Wolf tomorrow, if you can.

I'm telling you, this wasn't the regular self-important sycophantic Wolf. This was a man with a point of view he wasn't afraid to demonstrate.

Maybe I'm fatuous, but, on the heels of the Dover Decision today, I think it was a real sea change in terms of what I've seen him do with people I absolutely despise.

Honest, it really was quite amazing.

Gotta have hope, eh?

4. I saw that, too.
And I was wondering, "Who are you really, and what have you done with Wolf?" He wasn't cutting that fuckwit Cornyn any slack at all. Amazing. Maybe the Bush gang have gone too far even for a 'ho like Wolfie.

was a senior statesman.

Yhe ONLY reason he is in the Senate is because he was picked by Bush to be Attorney General of Texas and rode the apron strings to Washington.

A total dicklick.

OLL, your eyes and ears are just fine. It's your mind that's too damned sharp.

32. he's the only one they can count on to look good while lying
everybody else they have is looking more weaselly by the minute.

He's also utterly loyal and a lawyer, so they can count on him to say the script without a missed cue, and he can pretend to know something about the law (since this is a legal story)

It's also barely possible that certain Repukkkes actually won't speak in Smirk's behalf right now. Testing the waters as it were, since the rats are about to leave the sinking ship. It looks very much (TO ANYONE WITH A BRAIN)as if Smirk is about to make history in a bad way, and nobody wants to be on the wrong end of that story.

The next few weeks are going to be great for Bush haters. Me, I don't hate Bush: I think he's sick and should be treated and pitied. I do hate what he has done to our formerly happy and united country though. I used to be so proud of the US for being so diverse and yet so united. Bush isn't the first or certainly not the only one to kill America, but he slit the corpse and is feasting on the flesh.

31. Cornyn was my senator in Texas (along with Kay Bailey Hutchinson)
Graham is my senator in SC (along with the totally dysfunctional Jim Dimwitt). Lindsey Graham's staff is the smartest, most responsive senatorial staff I've had in years. I am reminded of the good old days with Jack Flynt (D-Ga, in the old 6th House District that went to Newt) and Wyche Fowler (D-ATL, who served in both the US House and Senate).

Professional propagandist, that is. He knows he has to maintain a veneer of credibility for his lies to have effect.

Leslie Blitzer deserves the same fate as Tokyo Rose and Axis Sally.

Jail time for treason !

25. I watched that too, it was very unusal for Wolfy...
but here's the thing...

if Cornyn's talking points is promulgated with the intensity and saturation that i've seen and heard just in the past two days, that one interview with Wolfy, will be a mere blip.

What's going to be needed imo, is for Bill Clinton (and others on Senate Intel committee, like Rockefeller etc) holding a full court presss to put the Bush Crime family's meme to rest.

Alternatively, we need to insist and demand on full OPEN Congressional investigation hearings. Something tells me, this ain't going to happen unless we march on to the capital. Just you watch and see.... unless we shout out loud enough for open hearings, they'll just commence more white wash cover ups and issue a meaningless report that essentially slaps the prez on the hand.

28. Andrea Mitchell gave John Cornyn a hard time on Hardball tonight.
Especially on the 72-hour provision of the applicable law. He said that sometimes time is of the essence. Andrea hit him back with the provision in the law (written by Joe Bidden) that allows the administration to spy first, and ask the judge later (72 hours). Cornyn was blind-sided by that one!

I'd like to see it for myself. Andrea's "reporting" is mediocre at best. If she was really "on the ball" tonight, I'd like to see the video/transcripts. Thanks.

Wolf trusts Bob Graham. He mentioned that he had known Graham for a long time. I believe that relationship had something to do with him going after Cornyn's lies today.
