Who else gets unwanted Hillary junk mail? What an ego trip she is on!
The last one I got is a huge white mailer envelope that says,

"At Republican headquiarters, theree's a list of Democrats they want out of thier way.

My name is at the top."

What a load of crap. Who has ever seen this supposed list with Hillary's name at the top? It's really an obscene campaign of disinformation on her part, clearly she is in in it for Hillary, not the Democratic Party.

I thought about telling her office to stop, but then I thought what the hell at least they are spending some of their $$$ mailing me shit I just throw in the recycle box without opening anyway.

1. No
Tell them you don't want it. That's money she's taking from good democrats that are running, and her office needs to know you don't support her. Every person they mail they count as a "supporter of Hillary" even if you don't send back any money. Let them know you don't want to hear from her until she does her job.

2. I get something from her (asking for money) about every two weeks
and I live in Minnesota and have never had any contact with her or her campaign. I have no idea why somebody who is running for the Senate in New York would be pestering somebody for donations who lives in Minnesota (and hasn't set foot in New York in years). Unless it's to get the ball rolling for '08, of course -- but it's just pissing me off.

6. that is a good question. why is she asking for money
from somebody outside of new york? IF you were to contact her I am sure she would blow you off because you are NOT her constituent. somebody outside of new york who gets her solicitations should do a test and see if they get the standard, "we only respond to constituents" response.

7. Ocelot... me too!
Except I'm in Anchorage and I get em too! :o

I get "Friends of Hillary" letters and once in a while, I get a questionnaire that she sends out.

I figure I wound up being on her list just by being a registered Democrat?

It's postal spam. I don't have a lot of money to give to candidates right now, and when I do, it's going to go to people I actually support.

Write this on the envelope and put it in your mailbox (I still do it for junk mail):

Return to Sender
Ecologically Obscene

8. I received a questionnaire from her once
and I was really going to answer it and send it back. Of course, she also wanted a donation. But what kept me from answering the questions is that NOT ONE question was relevant to anything that I actually cared about. The questions sounded like they were from 1992--the issues were dated and irrelevant--nothing about all the horrible problems that our country faces.

letters I write.

But then, I am just a constituent here in NY. I guess she just assumes we will always be there for her.

She just may be surprised.

10. And for someone who only talks to her "base" (same as Bush's base)
ya know, like in Farenheit 9/11 - where Bush is at a hoity toity, $50,000 dollar a plate fund raiser - and he's says something like it's great to be hear speaking to my people, my "core base". (paraphrasing cuz i didn't memorize it)...

I really love the 'return to sender, ecologically obscene' idea on the envelope.

16. You know so many people have mentioned getting bumper stickers
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 10:06 AM by karynnj
Have you seen any on cars? I haven't but I did see a cool "Uproot Bush" one and still see lots of Kerry/Edwards and some Kerry ones. (One car in a parking lot had Gore/Lieberman and Kerry/Edwards.) But no Hillary ones yet. Yes, I'm pathetic and read bumper stickers. (The only car that freaked me out had lots of Jesus/God Stickers and spoke of the Rapture - and I live in the NYC NJ suburbs!)

In fairness to Hillary, we also get Feingold (who I like, but never signed anything of his), Bill Clinton (his library and causes), Jimmy Carter, DNC, (the Democrat house one, the senate one), Progressive Democrats (who are VERY aggressive on the phone), the 21st century Democrats, the DFA and the NJ Democrats.

I also got mailings from Kerry and Corzine - but in their cases I had taken the inititive to give them money, sign petitions and to volunteer. Corzine had one of the best robot calls ever to get help - they collect informetion on whether you were going to vote for him, might vote for him, give money and/or volunteer in one nicely designed call. I like Kerry's emails too - but wish his committee didn't use telemarketers at this point.

23. I'm using the Hillary Window Sign for wrapping paper!
Any other nifty dollar saving craft ideas for the bumper sticker?
She's running, count on it.

I get her stuff in MICHIGAN.

Last night I got a phone call from the DCCC looking for money. I told them I do not donate to the DSCC, the DCCC or the DLC. But I DO donated to the DNC, PDA and DFA.

I had to repeat it several times, as the guy would NOT listen to me. By the time I hung up, my husband and kids were laughing at the stream of letters that had been coming out of my mouth!

14. You're on THE LIST.
Politicians use outside companies (like ones run by the likes of Rove, Viguerie, and Reed) to obtain potential donor lists and hit them with a variety of media to request money. They use whatever is in the news to stir up the known cause donor.

They buy your name and data from some other campaign you gave to, and use that info to target you for requests. You're a marked email address. Once on their lists, you won't fall off for a while.

Hillary knows little about how and what these guys are doing. She sees the bottom line, the net number they produce. They get to keep a bundle of what they raise. That's what they do.

Junk mail from Hillary is not one of them.

19. If you are a registered Democrat who has done any political
work in the near-distant past, you will probably get materials from all the candidates as they get their campaigns rolling (especially if you worked for another Arkansas Dem. in the past... ;) ) I did, and I got the mailing. I see Ocelot did, and now you. Perhaps she just wants us onboard in case our candidate decides not to run?

It pretty much shoots down the "How do we even know if Hillary is running in '08 or not?" bullshit, though, doesn't it?

Like I'd work for her campaign if our candidate decides not to run. Hell, I'll try to pick and pluck and find SOME Democrat who might flip a red state or two.

Besides, I worked for said Arkansas Dem in 2004 and I haven't gotten the mailing - but then, I'm not a registered anything in Tennessee (because I don't have to be!).

20. Why can't people wait until late '07/spring '08 before they bash
candidates? I am supporting Hillary and really don't care to hear what whiney ass people have to say about Hillary. The people bashing Hillary are the very same people that voted Nader in '00 and trashed Kerry last year threatening to stay home in November '04 if he got the nomination. All contributed greatly to putting Bush into a position where he was able to steal both elections.

It's interesting that just like the constitutionalist-civil liberties right wingers have a common enemy with liberals in Bush, it appears the far left liberals have a whole lot in common with the rest of the GOP in stopping Hillary.

So give me a time out just like I got in the primaries in '04. I don't give a damn.

22. Every other week
Here's my theory: After Boxer stood up for the voters after 2004 election, she issued a petition to get congress to investigate or write a bill or something. I signed the petition. In the fine print at the bottom of that e-mail was the name Hillary R Clinton. Shortly after that is when I began to get the Hillary-mail. I think that is how she got my name. Yes, lots of letters and I can't seem to make them stop.

considering we got a mailing from PIRRO FOR US SENATE asking for -hopefully- $1,000 but $25 would be great too. It also had a "REPLACE HILLARY NOW" bumper sticker in it. It was the most hateful piece of propaganda smear tactics I've seen since the presidential elections. I marked it up and am sending it back to her without a coveted check.

35. Yeah she is, Clarkie, really. Think about it....the name recognition
alone makes her the most visible of all the candidates by a longshot. Plus she's got a wide web of financial support like no one else. That and the fact that she lights up like a light bulb when she speaks.

Definitely a Democratic superstar. Maybe not in the sense of a sports star, but in politics there's no doubt about it. It's a challenge for the other candidates to get the same exposure as she does because everyone seems to be drawn toward her.

36. Well, if you mean "Superstar" in the same sense as
Michael Jackson or OJ Simpson or someone else who's villified, then, yes. But she's not a "superstar" in the red states for anything positive.

Now - whether that's because of right-wing media or left-wing sneering of her, I'm not judging, but she's NOT liked.
