ok in June 42% said they'd support impeachment if he lied about the war,

http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/594

'if he lied' then 43% said yes to impeachment.

today Should President Bush be Impeached and Removed from Office? 32%

No if, 32% just want him out.

10. Not sure about that, though. Did a majority of Americans support
Clinton's impeachment? It seems to me they didn't (I remember his approval rating being VERY high, even throughout the impeachment fiasco). Of course, I wasn't into politics yet, so I could be way off base. Just curious.

12. On the day of impeachment
only 35% of the public supported it.
CNN/USAToday/Gallup gave Clinton a 73% approval rating.

14. Remember, too
the GOP got that number to 35% by spending nearly two years of public tub-thumping 24/7. Chimpy's got the same number and the question has barely been uttered aloud.

3. You can't rely on a poll from rasmussen.
Their polls always props the chimp up. I'm not buying that poll. 55 to 60% disapprove of him yet only 32% want him impeached??? Yeah, right. America is in the toilet so let's just keep it there. Geez...

4. it is all in how the question is phrased
if they don't make mention of his lying and just ask if he should be impeached well you get about 32% - toss in facts and figures and you get the higher response.

7. After Downing Street has only themselves to blame
They should have asked the same question they did before if they wanted a number to compare. Theyasked a different question this time, so we have no wayt to know whether sentiment is growing, waning, or what....

Or if they wanted to goose the poll toward impeachment, they should have asked a series of questions ("Do you think Bush lied when he said A," "Do you think Bush lied when he said B," c, d, e, etc. followed by "Do you think a President ought to be impeached for lying?" and THEN Do you think Bush ought to impeached").

By the way, that 32% is about what the "Yes" answer to similar polls was when Clinton's impeachment trial began.

It does show impeachment isn't going to be much of an issue in the election (Big surprise).

13. Yeah, but we don't know how this number compares to the earlier poll
because they didn't ask the same question.

15. Did Ras ever polled the same question regarding Clinton?
Edited on Thu Dec-15-05 02:36 PM by npincus
Undeniably, tens of thousands of deaths and half a trillion dollars of taxpayer money squandered are not as serious as a presidential blowjob.
