So Warner Is Way Ahead Of The Curve On DNA Testing
this is sure to give the Warner haters here another heart attack.

The man just keeps doing smart and honorable things.

<snip>

Random DNA testing ordered by Gov. Mark R. Warner in 31 long-closed criminal cases has led to the exoneration of two men convicted of rape.

It also led Warner today to order a more extensive review and further DNA testing to find if there are other innocent people who can be cleared by evidence saved by state serologists

-----

The testing raises serious questions about the criminal justice system in Virginia and across the country, critics said. They praised the governor for ordering the additional testing.

6. The man doesn't move me. He is to packaged and lacks what
is needed to be President- guts. He seems to be playing the "perfect candidate". I don't think we will win trying to pacify the South. We throw them a "candidate that can win in the South" and they will proceed to laugh and vote for a republican. Besides, Warner thinks Bush should just get a pass on misleading the country and he is to DLC.

13. NPR reported more info
Apparently, in the 70s, one particular employee stapled records, including samples, in such a way that they could not be used at the time, but with more sophisticated DNA testing today, the samples can now be used. The order was originally that a 10% sample of cases handled by this employee be re-tested and that is what produced the 2 exonerations. Warner then ordered that ALL (not just a "more extensive review") cases so handled be re-tested. So that is what is now being undertaken.

14. Warner is great and I don't just say that because he is from the "south"
Is Virginia in the "south" anyway?

Wikipedia thinks so too:
