3. The Reform Party had national status
I don't know where you've been studying your history but no way is this the "first 3rd party in US history" to gain a 3rd party national status.

I'm glad for whatever achievement the Greens have finally made but it isn't what you're claiming.

4. The reform party could have been
the official 3rd party in the US but Pat Buchanan made an end to that dream. Pat hijacked the reform party and used it to its own benefit.

6. A lot of people thought Pat sabotaged the Reform Party for the GOP
he acted as a hit man, IOW.

They say that because even though Pat had a lot of money in matching Federal funds, his campaign did virtually nothing with it.

7. I thought the GOP was the first in 1856.

They lost to the Whigs and the Democrats in 1856. In 1856 they ran Freemont, who lost to the Democrats (the Whigs also ran a Canidate, but he received less votes than the GOP in 1856).

In 1860, you had no less than Four parties, all can be called "third parties". The Southern Democrats (Who ran Brachenridge), the Northern Democrats (Who ran Stephen Douglas), the GOP (WHo ran Lincoln) and John Bell (another Democrat running in the election)

My favorite election for third parties is the 1912 election, where Eugene Debs received votes in every states:
