3. The plastic turkey (I actually saw this referred to by a right-winger
as a "plastic ceremonial turkey" like it was a sword or something) was destroyed by an IED.

LOL

I was like, What the hell is this about?

Oh lord, don't you know Iraq is dangerous? People are getting shot there, why would anybody want to go there? Better to stick around and hang with lobbyists. :)

6. They don't care for plastic turkey?
They didn't have time to set up any staged dialogs with the 'troops.' so why bother when there is no PR opportunity?

They didn't want to be branded as cowards because they will ultimately have to 'cut & run' after the dessert course.

They are allergic to IEDs.

Jean Schmidt is having the annual 'asshole's dinner' at her house this year, and all the pResident's men were invited.

7. They'd like to help the MSM keep Iraq out of the news
And the MSM would prefer not to give Iraq too much attention. They believe upbeat stories and celebrity gossip get a greater audience. They want to you to know all about Jessica Simpson's marriage.

10. I'm not sure who you're catagorizing as chickenhawk, but I read
the other day that several people fron Congress were going to Iraq for Thanksgiving. I remember because one of them was Saxby, who is my Senator.
