On Edit: RawStory has posted their article at http://rawstory.com/news/2005/GOP_pulls_tax_bill_and_calls_1118.html

Interesting bit is the pullout vote is written by GOP?? I thought they were going to put Murtha's bill on the floor?

1. MUST-SEE TV!!
I wonder if this news will get more members back to the Hill tonight?

And, will this bill be what Murtha suggested (pull BACK...not pull OUT)??

3. If the bill is much more than two lines, they're playing games with GI joe
All they need to say is that all U.S. foces are to be pulled out of Iraq immediately.

5. It's a TRAP! It's a SETUP! See this release from Rep. Pelosi's office >>
The House will reconvene shortly. The Tax Reconciliation Act HAS BEEN PULLED, however, the Republican Leadership is bringing to the floor THEIR VERSION of Mr. Murtha's Iraq Resolution H.J.Res 73. Under the procedure, the following debate and votes will occur:

One hour of debate on the Martial Law Rule as amended to make in order a version of the H.J.Res.73 - Murtha Resolution, which we have NOT SEEN, followed by a vote.

VOTE ON MARTIAL LAW RULE

One hour of debate on the Rule to consider THEIR VERSION of the Murtha Resolution.

VOTE ON THE RULE

One hour of debate on THEIR VERSION of the Murtha Resolution
VOTE ON THE RESOLUTION

6. For the love of God, please let the House Dems do the right thing
This is our heaven-sent, once-in-a-lifetime, gold-plated, and glorious opportunity to stand up and say, "come hell or high water, this is what we believe. Follow us."

The Republicans are so cut off from reality, they think they are going to pull a fast one. They are going to wish they hadn't tried. Democrats standing with the American people to demand a pullout now will be the political blockbuster of the year.

All your 2006 elections are belong to us if we stand firm, and refuse to scare.

9. Don't be so eager to have them vote for a bill
that the Republicans have written. We don't even know what this bill says!

12. Here's the text, posted by another DUer from the Hotline blog
"Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the deployment of United States forces in Iraq be terminated immediately.

Resolved, That it is the sense of the House of Representatives that the deployment of United States forces in Iraq be terminated immediately."

Sounds good to me!
