Laura Bush laughs, cries with South Korean orphans

ASSOCIATED PRESS

BUSAN, South Korea – Ha-ha, boohoo! First Lady Laura Bush on Friday taught South Korean orphans how Americans laugh and cry with the help of a children's book and kids from a local U.S. Army post.
The orphanage director said her goodwill visit would help stem anti-American sentiment among South Korea's young people.

While her husband, President Bush, pressed his message of greater democracy in Asia and took part in the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum convening here this weekend, Mrs. Bush read to about 25 children at a local library.

"They're crying, see all their tears?" Bush, a former school teacher, said as she pointed to a drawing of children weeping because spices were getting in their eyes.

...

"A lot of young people, some of them have anti-Americanism, but having a chance to meet the president's wife gives them a chance to have friendship between them and the country," Chi said.

4. 'because spices were getting in their eyes."..... oh
god-

would i give anything that the tears of trillions are because of the spice getting in our eyes.

Those aren't tears of weeping- they are your eyes washing out irritants-
Wonder what the laughter was for- watching people fall down and die?

Watching people buy the lies?

friendship is not reading a book at a photo op it is listening, caring and doing things together that enrich each other- not using people for your own ends.

screw miss laura

Let's see her read "The Giving Tree"-

9. I hope the book teaches HER how to laugh and cry
Then she can laugh at her husband's idiocy and cry about what he has down to the country right along with the rest of us.

As soon as these kids are old enough to read a newspaper on their own, they'll figure it out.

20. "a former school teacher"
From her biography at whitehouse.gov

"Inspired by her second grade teacher, she earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Southern Methodist University in 1968. She taught in public schools in Dallas and Houston. In 1973, she earned a master of library science degree from the University of Texas and worked as a public school librarian."

Doesn't say what grades, which schools, etc. She must be real proud of that part. :sarcasm:
