Does Bush Chronically Lie Because He's Too Lazy to Tell the Truth?
http://www.buzzflash.com/analysis/05/11/ana05040.htmlWe were listening to Al Franken's Air America Program on Thursday and heard an author commenting on why "Baby Doc" Bush lies. He said that he doesn't think it's well-thought out and strategic; it's just easier for Bush than telling the truth.
For instance, if he had to admit that we torture people in order to argue for the Cheney full court press on the Senate to continue torturing people, that would make too much work for Bush. People would get all upset and reporters might actually do their jobs and get pesky. So, it's just easier to lie -- and George is one lazy guy when it comes to his work ethic, always has been.
On Veterans Day, on the defensive (a good sign), Bush is going to claim Democrats saw the same intelligence on Iraq he did. Well, not really, because he saw the intelligence before it was "fixed." The Democrats saw it after Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and Bush manipulated the intelligence and forced the CIA to come up with speculation, no matter how doubtful, and turn it into propaganda factoids -- along with assistance from Rumsfeld's "little neo-con elves of deception" shop over at the Defense Department. So the Democrats voted to authorize Bush to go to war based on lies and only if all U.N. options were exhausted, which they weren't.
But you won't hear that from Bush, because the truth would cause him a needless hassle from a guy the press observes to see if he is smiling and comfortable with himself, as if it is OUR job is to make sure that he is happy. Wouldn't you think it's Bush's job to protect us, be honest, and think of the nation before thinking of expanding his imperial powers and making the wealthier wealthier?
