PLEASE READ 53% of Americans Support Impeachment; ImpeachPAC Announced!
Edited on Fri Nov-04-05 07:27 PM by PennyMan
By a margin of 53% to 42%, Americans want Congress to impeach President Bush if he lied about the war in Iraq, according to a new poll commissioned by AfterDowningStreet.org, a grassroots coalition that supports a Congressional investigation of President Bush's decision to invade Iraq in 2003.

The poll was conducted by Zogby International, the highly-regarded non-partisan polling company. The poll interviewed 1,200 U.S. adults from October 29 through November 2.

2. Well, we gotta start somewhere - Bush is only making matters worse!
If Rove was fired for being involved in Plamegate Bush may have had a chance for a new beginning (hardly!) but he knows he hasn't a clue about running a country, he can't even make wise choices for the delegation of qualified personel to run key offices.

Bush's incompetantcy will only be more obvious with each passing week.

6. Chimpy's going 'round the bend
Check out Capitol Hill Blue any day of the week. Capitol Hill Blue has been reporting how basically Chimpy has been throwing terrifying temper tantrums everytime someone comes into his office and delivers bad news.

Word has it that a lot of Chimpy's staffers are fed up and ready to quit. Also, this article says that the GOP top brass has told Chimpy that his presidency is basically over. If this is true, this means that the GOP has turned on Chimpy because they realize that his policies have destroyed many reelection chances for republicans currently in office or those who aspire to take office in November '06.

They tell Bush that he might have a chance of salvaging the next two years if he fires Rove and shakes up his cabinet. They're also telling him to apologize for lying about the WMDs. I don't think he'll do it. There's no way he'll do it.

I expect to see Democrats win a lot of seats in '06, especially since the economy is crapping out thanks to the oil companies that are looting us and the damage that the inflation that all of the war spending has caused.

4. I wonder how many want him impeached now.
This is the biggest non-reported story in America. The number of people who think Bush should be impeached. However, these polls always ask the question: "IF BUSH LIED..." But I wonder how many would want him impeached ASAP. Because I saw a poll on CNN today (Washington Post, I think) where something like 55% to 56% already think he lied to America about the war. So i'm guessing that the number of people who would support impeachment today is probably already at 40%+.

The significance of this is simple. A majority of Americans didn't support Nixon's impeachment until the very end (Summer of 74). And the number of people who supported Clinton's impeachment never rose above 35%. So that Bush is already at 50% should cause him much concern.

I say if we win the 2006 midterms, and if Bush's numbers stay where they are - Bush will be impeached by Congress. Whether he will be removed is another issue.

5. Even more telling than the numbers is the fact that they're polling on
this question at all. I mean, it hasn't been raised in the MSM. I think this is significant.

7. PEOPLE!
It doesn't matter what the people want, impeachment can only be brought about for certain crimes which the President has not committed. The people get NO SAY in who gets impeached.
