I think the 'R' party should be referred to as 'the regressive'
party. Just a thought. I think this would help folks understand what the underlying theme is. Regressing to the 1890s when corporations had monopolies, children worked, workers made zilch and there was no healthcare. Seems to fit and provides such a nice contrast to Ds as 'progressive'.

2. reprehensible? Repugnant?
Regressive does have a nice ring to it, though.

4. Don't want to sound like we're name calling, just capturing their theme
in a word. Regressive. or Repressive. I think regressive gives a good contrast

5. Substitute "conservative" with "regressive".
"He is a fiscal regressive."

"He is a social regressive."

7. Regressive it should be! We have said that

at DU in the past and it didn't stick.

With this battle going on for SC, it has got to stick.

"Republican" in the minds of too many means - values, save your money, hard on defense and Christian Values - ha.

Why we still stick with Republican is beyond me.

In all our communications ,IMO, it should be the REGRESSIVES!

I know we don't like the word Meme but until that gets a better appeal, we need a MEME.

Recall LIBERAL MEDIA?

And even "MAIN Stream Media," Why do we call it that?

FAUX,CNN, MSNBC and sometimes, especially with Brian- CSPAN, is NOT main stream and we allow it to be called that.

Why not the REGRESSIVE MEDIA? RM, that is what it is. They are all owned and paid for by the corporate REGRESSIVES!

10. My brother was telling me about an interesting exchange on OReally's radio
program

Apparently last week, maybe Friday, Oh Really was complaining about oil companies making record profits, and how they were price gouging.

Of course, my brother mentioned that Oh Really never got around to actually blaming Bush for letting them get away with it. Sorta like how he never actually points the finger at Bush for failing to do anything about illegal immigration.

And then, according to my bro, one of Oh Really's sycophants called in to reiterate that he loved Bush, loved Oh Really, and hated that the oil companies were gouging. He went out of his way again to indentify himself as a conservative.

Then, he and Oh Really came to the agreement that there ought to be (get this) Government regulations that would prevent companies from doing this. They wanted legal and legislative action taken.

My brother tells me he was absolutely stunned.

"I thought: Wait. No. Wrong. Isn't that what we on the left have been saying for years? Isn't that what's wrong with the left, supposedly? That we want "big Government" to come in and interefere with people's private lives and to regualte businesses? Doesn't regulation obstruct growth and profit? Doesn't it stop free enterprise? Besides, isn't that the sort of thing that the Free Market is supposed to prevent and correct, according to conservative doctrine"

Well, of course, he may not have literally said all that in those words. But it was a long rant.

And it was a converstion we were having over some very nice cigars.

14. Reactionary radicals...radical reactionaries...
Reactionary radical right wing nuts. Regressive is a bit too passive for me.
