I just watched the Tony Snow Show!
It was on HBO. I pay $12 a month for HBO. The show's titles say somebody named "Bill Maher" but all I got to see, and hear, for 45 minutes was the voice and the lies of Tony Snow. So it was obviously his show.:eyes:

He's so informative. Here's what I learned tonight.

*Valerie Plame was not an active spy.
*She, that desk jockey who's little more than a receptionist, has the authority to send an ambassador to Niger to drink herbal teas, ask a couple of questions to a Democratic Party sympathizer who in the Niger Government and write lies about it in the NY Times.
*Perjury is no big deal...but Tony never said that. NO, THAT'S NOT BULLSHIT!
*Microsoft's profits are just as high as Exxon-Mobil's... if you don't just look at the quarterly profits.
*Oil profits go back into production, building new refineries, but it's a big PR problem.
*Women in Iraq never went to school, but Saddam seemed to see them qualified for being biologists.
*The Republicans wanted term limits in the 90's because they didn't think they'd ever be in charge, and fooled themselves...and won elections  .

This guy is funnier than all of the stand up specials I've seen in the last 10 years!:puke:

This is the 10th time that Bill let's the lying wingnut filibuster the entire show, and spread more lies without being called on them. Take a hint from Stephen Colbert Bill.... GROW SOME BALLS!

1. rec'd and I second the emotion
arrrggghhhh... I can't believe Bill didn't call him out on, at least, the "women couldn't go to school under Saddam" and "oil profits going into new refineries" BS.

He let's them get away with it every fucking week!

Remember David Frum? PJ O'Roarke? That grey haired fucker from Heritage Foundation, wioth his "strongest economy in 15 years" bullshit?

8. Not good enough.
Not dissing Billy but Maher's show sucks and has except for episode #58.
Maher is a coporate whore. He'll tease but not go all the way. Just look back at all the RW guests vs. liberal guests. That's not even counting the speechless idiots(like the Fortune mag chick tonight)who only got on the show up because her agent or Maher had a hard-on for her.

9. well, you do need the RW assholes on to argue with
otherwise the panel discussions would end up being pretty boring. But the FOX drones are skilled at cutting people off and dominating the conversation, which is why it always helps to have a wild card in there to throw them off balance. Sometimes they don't get the mix right and it makes for a dull show. Still, better than the sort of punditizing you see on the news channels.

the lack of commercials alone makes it so...

21. I don't need Fox RW assholes to dominate the show
and it would be interesting if there was a liberal on the show.

What a bore tonight.

Oh well yourself. If you consider Maher a genius, fine. I don't. I dislike his show. Get over it. And Helen Thomas is a hero so don't try and twist my words.

Maher is just another corporate hack.

with lies last week as well, it was a shame. He looked real clueless.

6. Exactly! Snow was so full of the FAUX "talking point" LIES
and Maher did little or nothing to stop him, call him out on them. Once again, Maher does not impress me.

(BTW...met Maher in person after a live show a few years back....got to go backstage...small group after the show, about five people total. He was rude and acted like a little diva. Was not impressed then, and am still a long way from being impressed now.)

7. Bill needs to have stronger left-wing guests
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 11:48 PM by BattyDem
He lets the wingnuts take over the show almost every week! Why does he have so many comedians to represent the left? I don't mind POLITICALLY SAVVY comedians like Whoopi or George Carlin, but most of them are not informed enough to nail the wingnut to the wall! He needs to have people like Randi Rhodes, Mike Malloy, John Conyers, Dennis Kucinich, Howard Dean, David Corn and Katrina Vanden Heuvel (The Nation), Paul Begala, etc. Enough of the left-wing lightweights and the timid Bill Mahar! :grr:

10. hear hear! maher has let several rethugs hijack his show in recent
weeks. it was disgusting. the foreign guy was kind of witty. the lady in the middle was a place holder who added nothing but laughs at maher's jokes. he needs more outspoken progressives.

btw, I was not impressed with Spike Lee on last week's show either. Some people are famous and talented, but arent' the best guests for a show of this nature.

11. Orwellian repugnican fantasyland
It's easy to live in repugnican fantasyland - you just have to get the hang of turning reality upside down. Practice believing that night is actually day, west is actually east and in no time you'll believe things like, "liberals hate the poor - otherwise they wouldn't trap them in poverty by lending assistance... liberals hate colored people - otherwise they wouldn't have insituted affirmative action..."

13. OMG! I was so pissed at that asshole.
Can't we get rid of jackasses that pose as journalists/reporters? These rat bastards shouldn't be allowed to spew their bullshit and pass it off as authentic! I wanted to reach in to my TV and slap the living shit out of him!

:spank: :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank:

He goes on my Hold the Media Accountable list!!!

Peace.

He spent so much time spewing it as well as kissing the ass of the right.

15. Dear Bill
My email to Bill Maher:

Bill,
Save yourself the money. Instead of having a shill like Tony Snow monopolize the show read the Fox talking points yourself.

Real disappointing show tonight.

His fake commercial joke, and Helen Thomas was good. After they get to the Star Trek Tiki Bar kidney table, it's all down hill. New Rules even sucked tonight. 2000 dead in Iraq and he complains about text tags during episodes of Lost, saying "You are watching Lost" or Jennifer Anniston all over the gossip tabloids.

20. Clarke was the same. Said nothing different than before.
He's still lamenting about young people not wanting to go into government, because Washington is so scandal prone.

24. I Loved The Show
I really saw it like they called that guy on his shit...one or two times I was pissed at Bill for being like, "oh, really?" on some lie but for the post part Tony Snow was smacked down pretty good. I think laughing at them bugs them more than yelling at them.
