Joe Trippi joins "Independent World Television"
founding committee.

IWT is a new channel planned for 2007. No ads. No corporate sponsorship. No govt sponsorship.

http://www.iwtnews.com/people

"Joe Trippi (USA), head of Washington, DC political consultancy, Trippi & Associates. In 2004, Trippi was National Campaign Manager for Howard Dean’s presidential campaign, praised for its effective use of internet technology for small-donor fundraising and for facilitating the development of a grassroots movement."

IWT is asking people to sign-up for emails. They have only been sending out about one email per month.

The point is that a big email list will show interest and help them negotiate with cable companies.

You can sign-up for IWT emails at:

2. Trippi is also with NPI, the new media group formed by Rosenberg.
I am sort of surprised to see him with this one as well.

4. More than a think tank, allied with NDN, bloggers, media.
Bloggers are involved, confusing the whole issue of what is real and what is not real. If anyone tries to figure out who is tied to what campaign or what group (there is another called Demcracy Alliance) then they are ignored or hushed.

http://www.ndnpac.org/npi/

Here are the founders of it:
http://www.ndnpac.org/npi/statements/05-10-05_npi_announce.html

"NPI will have its primary offices in the Bay Area and Washington, DC, but will draw on a network of Fellows from across the country. Staff and Fellows will attempt to modernize the practice of progressive politics through presentations, private and public briefings and commentary in the media. NPI will hold its first conferences this fall in the Bay Area and Washington, DC.

NPI’s founding team includes Sergio Bendixen, Jamie Daves, Gina Glantz, Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, Mark Penn, Cecile Richards, Simon Rosenberg, Joe Trippi and Theo Yedinsky. President Bay Area philanthropists Andy and Deborah Rappaport have provided NPI a substantial start-up grant. NPI is also pleased to have The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) as a major partner in the start-up phase of this exciting new venture.

NPI’s first several projects will include a new report on the Hispanic electorate by NPI Fellow Sergio Bendixen, a new major report on building a new majority coalition by prominent pollster and strategist Mark Penn and a report on the future of progressive media by NPI Fellow Jamie Daves. NPI will also be showcasing the internet television technology of a new start-up, Participatory Culture (www. participatoryculture.org)."

For example, are they part of the new Third Way network of Media? Who knows. Third Way does not list theirs.

I realize it is how the Republicans built their network, without calling attention to it. However, it can be very confusing to your own party as well.

5. Does the "Third Way" organization you're referring to
have a website?

6. Here are two links.
The first one is linked from the PPI website which is part of the DLC. It is very thorough, and if you follow the links there are videos of Clinton back several years. This is his and Hillary's big thing...the Third Way.
http://www.ppionline.org/ppi_ka.cfm?knlgAreaID=128

That link shows it is a world wide group, most likely tied to the Democratic version of the PNAC which is called "progressive internationalism".

This next link is the link the Third Way website that is part of the DLC. There are many 3rd way websites though.
http://www.third-way.com/

This link from the website bothers me, as it shows the whole country red just about....and then sounds like we have to be like them to win.
http://www.third-way.com/need/

Take a peek at that map.

Here is their very vague Third Way Network. They are not going to tell you who is in their network. We know The New Republic and Slate work with them, the former holding a conference for them. The latter mentioned in an article by Ari Berman called "The Strategist Class" which is at The Nation.

7. Thanks, it seems more about messages than
about a new tv network.

8. Not a TV network.
A network of other media including bloggers who are hired by Simon but often do not disclose. So we really don't know what they are pushing or if they are catapulting DLC/NDN propaganda. I believe in disclosure.

I just don't trust Trippi.
