13. I do- DEMS should all be on TV asking why the GOP congress...
...refuses to investigate anything-Delay, Rove, Katrina, the DSM then say "What are they hiding" over and over.

"Why does this congress refuse to investigate Bush- and why does no one in media ever ask them this? What are they hiding?"

The talking point should be "What are they hiding?"

Throw in the DSM, Lies told during Katrina, and any thing else for good measure. What are they hhiding?

"I remember when this GOP congress used to impeach Presidents for lying about personal family problems- but now they are covering for Bush's lies and criminal activity. What are they hiding"

That would be a start.

Or they could do what they did during the last 3 losing election cycles- talk about sunshine & rainbows and pretned that they can "work with" liars & criminals.

20. Good points. However, the GOP Katrina investigation is so partisan
Good points. However, the GOP Katrina investigation is so partisan that the Democrats, except those in states directly affected, have boycotted the hearings.

On the other hand, the Democrats or a Democrat that wants to lead the party to victory in 2006 and 2008 needs to put forward a positive platform so that they can advance it while the Republicans are reeling.

22. You can tell the truth about Republicans AND have positive issues.
It does not take as much "energy" or "dry powder" as everyone says.

12. Not true- DEMs write letters and say tough things on the DNC website!!!
Surely all you guys read the LETTERS? Right? THE LETTERS!! We write letters you see.

You Cindy Sheehan people want DEMS to have wet powder- we can NOT have wet powder. Swing voters HATE wet powder. I'm told it must be kept dry.

And I've seen some tough talking points on some web-sites too. DEMOCRATIC websites- so stop saying DEMS are not fighting!!!

You Micheal Moore radicals wont be happy until Democrats are tearing out their hair, biting their hands and screaming "GEORGE BUSH KILLS PUPPIES!!"

STOP SAYING THESE THINGS-the strategists who lost the last 3 election have plans!!!!

15. Yes- but the choir donates money & volunteer time.
DEMs say tough things to the choir-that way they folks can post the text on message boards when others say DEMS are not fighting.

Then we say nuanced things to everyone else.

It has been compared to roping dopes in a boxing match- or judo moves- sounds exciting!!!

We must keep our powder from getting moisture on it!!!!!!!

Focus groups do not respond to candidates with moist powder.

18. I am all for bloody knuckles and would like to toss strategists
out on their asses. However, they did NOT lose the last 3 elections (2000, 2002, 2004) -- the last 3 elections were STOLEN.

Blare ALL truths loud and clear and we may just find our way out of this nightmare.

24. Damn good point - important distinction, IMO, between
Kerry did not get enough votes to win (because he is a loser candidate and strategists gave him lame advice)

VERSUS

Kerry got more than enough votes to win (in part because strategist advice was not damning) but none of them had the gonads to wrench victory from the jaws of victory.

Problem-solving depends on isolating the source of the problem and fixing that -- changing the message, but not insisting on taking the seat that was won isn't going to work.

Why is the symbol of the democratic party a donkey anyway?
Who is responsible for picking an "jackass" to represent us?

19. donkey - domestic beast of burden...
donkey - domestic beast of burden descended from the African wild ass; patient but stubborn

donkey - the symbol of the Democratic Party; introduced in cartoons by Thomas Nast in 1874

I don't know who Thomas Nast is. maybe someone can find the original cartoons and history.
