AP does a little pro-DeLay editorializing in this photo caption

President Bush, left, holds Brett Ferro, grandson of House Majority leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, right, during a congressional picnic on the South Lawn of the White House in this June 18, 2003 file photo in Washington. DeLay, relying on political prowess, arm-twisting and devotion to his GOP majority, has delivered for President Bush in his three years as majority leader. On Sept. 28, 2005, under indictment, he stands at the precipice. (AP Photo/Charles Dharapak, File)

1. I dunno, I think that's accurate.
I might have used the phrase "has fellated President Bush for three years" but the concept is there. And "at the precipice" is a lovely turn of phrase indeed!

6. Yeah, it's accurate, he did "deliver"...but...
...my reaction is basically "Someone who delivered and broke the law is a deliverer who needs to be behind bars."

The "delivery" is absolutely irrelevant in light of the indictment. Reminds me of the "Hitler loved his dogs" crowd...good for the dogs.

4. In a way that may not be 'pro' DeLay editorializing. The record
of the republican party and of george bush** is losing favor with the American people. Both the party and the pResident are seen to be shady, deceptive, incompetent, and out-of-step with the needs of the country.

We'll see. I'm more curious to hear additional info on the theory that DeLay only got indicted on one count because of a plea bargain.

5. Delivered as in being either a Bag man or a third rate Ward Heeler
And on that note - where does the term Ward Heeler come from and what the heck did it mean back before it became an insult.
