Oh I am so enraged right now. I am reading Brown's testimony.
Has anybody on that Committee, including Brown, even BOTHERED to read the National Response Plan or are they PLAYING dumb. I swear it is a GOP strategy no doubt straight from the desk of Karl Rove: "Pretend the National Response Plan that we worked on for over three years doesn't exist. In fact, pretend that dealing with major disasters is something completely new that no administration before the Bush administration has ever had to deal with."

1. Funny how Brown's testimony has been perceived.
A RW Friend of mine was so pleased after reading the Brown testimony transcript . "He really gave that Governor and Mayor hell, it was all their fault, and FEMA did what they were required to do."

Believe me, everyone on that committee knows that Brown is a self righteous paid puppet of the * Administration, but they are Republicans. It's anyone's guess if they will go against their own party and pResident.

3. Brown "sounded" good to the RW because he was misdefining the federal
government's role as what the RightWingers want it to be not as what it actually is. Okay, I will rephrase that. Perhaps as what it has become under Bush but not legally what it should be (as defined by Bush's own NRP Plan and Congress's Stafford Act) nor as what the American people EXPECT it to be.

2. And they want to say, but can't exactly, that they shouldn't HAVE to
That seems to be the underlying theme; that if everyone just took CARE of themselves, they wouldn't have to work so HARD to deal with major disasters. It's always on the tip of their tongue, all those pathetic "poor" people they have to spend so much money on, as if it is the fault of the people that their homes, businesses and towns were destroyed. Some people were poor, some are newly poor, and even the nursing home patients should have evacuated themselves?

Hey, I'm a libertarian, and even I don't buy into that BS about "personal responsibility", so what does that say? These aren't even repubs. They aren't anything but non-representational government.

I hope this man Brown fries for his lies yesterday.

I want civil damages. I want him penniless. For life. Can't foot the bills Brownie? Shoot, guess that means you go on welfare. And be thankful for it. Sorry the medical care isn't available, but times are tough. Sorry bankruptcy isn't very helpful, but you know, times are tough. If you keep looking, you should be able to find a place to live. Pity you have to get a home to get a job, but can't get a home without money. Them's just the breaks. But, you can work two jobs Brownie. Even three! That's what the president thinks is most nobel, right? Remember? Hard-working "Average American Workers"?

Or, better yet, go in the military. As did a lot of other poor slobs, because they were poor, and didn't have anywhere else to go, as this admin is counting on for Iraq.

Over-privileged, lying, murderous creep. You're an embarassment to your race. As are so many others.

I think I added to the rant

4. As I was listening to this dickhead I thought, "This just proves that
these guys think the American public is stupid."

I wanted to reach through my radio and strangle this idiot.
