How much did we spend to prove a blow job?
I'm sure I don'thave to remind you all of the time when our greatest national crisis was a blow job. Of course that was worth investigating and 24/7 news coverage, unlike, oh, say outing a CIA agent.....

So who's got figures on what we spent to prove that blue dress had Bill's jiz on it?

whitewater witch hunt including Paula Jones and Monica whoever. It was one, unending investigation. And Clinton still managed to be one of the better presidents in recent history.

edit: I take that back, the Paula Jones thing WAS separate and included the Monica thing.

Magazine: Tripp Tried To Write A Clinton 'Tell-All' Book
On CNN's "Larry King Live" on Saturday, the article's author, Jane Mayer, explained the relationship: "Lucianne Goldberg is not just a neutral bystander in this. She is a literary agent, but she is quite a bit more also. She is a political enemy of Clinton's, a conservative woman who had done dirty tricks for the Nixon White House<

>The Starr-Tripp connection: Evidence mounts that independent counsel orchestrated frame-up of Clinton
By Shannon Jones
27 October 1998

An op-ed column in the October 23 edition of the New York Times cites important evidence of collusion between independent counsel Kenneth Starr and lawyers for the Paula Jones sexual harassment lawsuit against Bill Clinton. The author, Richard Ben-Veniste, former chief of the Watergate Task Force in the Watergate special prosecutor's office, makes the case that the independent counsel guided Linda Tripp in her manipulation of Monica Lewinsky.<

>New revelations demonstrate role of right-wing lawyers, judges in anti-Clinton coup

Those involved include:

* Richard Porter, a former White House aide to George Bush and Dan Quayle,

* Jerome Marcus, a Philadelphia lawyer and former law school classmate of Porter's, whom Porter contacted to assist the lawyers for Paula Jones.

* George T. Conway III of New York, another friend of Porter's who worked with Marcus on the Supreme Court briefs.

* Ann Coulter, a Washington lawyer, right-wing activist and frequent guest on television talk shows, who assisted in the Jones lawsuit and..

All four lawyers were members of the Federalist Society, an association of right-wing lawyers, numbering about 5,000, which also includes among its members Kenneth Starr. <

Sex Scandal Figure Had Role in Nixon Campaign

http://www.umsl.edu/~skthoma/plwordr.htm

>Both Tripp and Goldberg are apparently Republicans. Tripp was one of only two holdovers from the Bush White House. Goldberg was exposed in 1973 as "a spy for Nixon while she traveled with the press corps" covering McGovern's 1972 campaign. It was at this time that she said she worked for NANA (North American Newspaper Alliance), and supplied an address for NANA which "is the same as her current residence" in Manhattan. Watergate investigators "said the Nixon campaign paid her $1,000 a week." <

10. If you ask them, they will tell you that
it wasn't the blow job, it was the lie about the blow job they spent that $$$ to prove.

It's a fine distinction, but those hypocrites make it every time!
