Any websites that dispel the various myths regarding Cindy Sheehan?
There are still a lot of freepers who have bought into the various lies spread by the right wing wackos. I am trying to find one spot (or even a few) that dispel the myths about Cindy. I found the mediamatters one that talked about how she didn't change her story. Any other places I can go?

Some of the myths:

Children begging/asking for her to come home.
She is anti-Israel.
Family disagrees with her anti-war protesting.

Thank you!

1. I can't help with cites.
But with a couple of arguments, maybe. I have no "defense" regarding the Israel remarks, although I think they were taken out of context. I think you will probably be able to find something she has written about that, though.

But let's say that #1 and #3 are true? To me, that illuminates her passion, to keep it up in the face of family pressures.

2. Yes, re 1 and 3: Hasn't it always been part of the "American"

character to stand up for what you believe, against the pressure to conform? If one and 3 are true, they could be evidence of Character, similar to what RW-ers claim for their own heroes.

The RW CONSTANTLY contradicts itself, because they lack the capacity for self-evaluation.

3. First, being against the policies of those in power in Israel does not
constitute being anti-Israel, just as being opposed to Bush does not make one anti-American.

Second, even assuming the other items are true . . . how many children of deployed soldiers do you think are asking and begging for their parent to come home (not to mention praying every night that they live long enough to come home).? How many families of soldiers do you think are opposed to the war (look over at MFSO for starters).

All three are simply spun talking points attempting to discredit Cindy simply because the right-wing zealots would rather see more people die than admit that Cindy is absolutely right and deserves answers.

6. Her children, BTW, are adults.
They may be asking her to come home, as is their rights as adults (but I have no idea whether they are actually doing so), but she doesn't need to be there to take care of them.
