"The President was Prepared to Act Immediately"
This is what I just heard on TV by one of the news anchors as I was channel flipping. It was in regards to Bush not wasting any precious time when he tapped John Roberts to replace William Rehnquist as Chief Justice who just passed away.

Amazing, isn't it, how the Chimp can act so decisively & quickly when it comes to making a self-serving political move, compared to sitting on his ass for a full 7 minutes after finding out terrorists had launched an attack on our country...or compared to how pitifully long it took him to respond to the catastrophe in New Orleans, et al, where poor people were dying by the minute.

3. Rehnquist died Sat night.
It's been about 36 hours and we have an anouncement re his replacement.
Where was bush* 36 hours after Katrina hit?
I'll give you a hint, it's where he spent a month hiding from Cindy.

7. I guess he broke the record for time it took to tap a new chief justice
because Bushco sure is impressed with how quickly he nominated Roberts.

I kind of think the media is hinting at something here, and knows what they're doing when they say how prepared Bush was to make the change. They know that we'll draw up the correct conclusion.

4. Bush wanted to make sure that...
his ass is protected if he ever gets impeached this term. Remember, Bush nominated this guy to the supreme Court because Roberts was loyal Repug to him. So he is rewarded. It seems to me that Bush was waiting and holding his breath for Rehnquist to die, so he could move on this IMMEDIATELY! Scary huh? I hope the democrats filibuster this idiot.

5. He would've announced yesterday
but held off out of "respect" for Rehnquist.

6. In case anybody forgot, the White House was withholding papers
on John Roberts. Roberts is a joke and is loser for this position and the people in the White House know that. Time to impeach the POTUS.

KENNEDY STATEMENT ON NOMINATION OF JOHN ROBERTS AS CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT
<snip>
In the midst of a national disaster of biblical proportions, it is difficult for the American people to participate fully in the selection of the next Chief Justice, one of the most important positions in our government and the chief protector of our constitution. Right now, as they should be, the hearts and minds of the American people are focused on helping the victims of the hurricane. Our response and focus to Hurricane Katrina is a defining moment in our nation's history and a test of our decency and humanity as a people. The White House, Congress, and the American people must all focus together to address the unprecedented human suffering and long term impact on our nation.
The President should take this time to unite and heal the country -- by remaining focused on helping the hurricane victims recover, honoring Chief Justice Rehnquist's memory by allowing the nation to mourn, and taking time to ensure our next steps on the Supreme Court point the country in the direction of progress.
