Judge John Roberts connected to major drug smuggling operation.

It increasingly appears that Roberts worked to circumvent the constitution that he has now been nominated to defend.
Only Congress has the constitutional power of the purse, and the constitutional power to declare war, not the president.

Judge Roberts worked to help go around the constitution to fund Reagan's illegal war against the democratically elected Sandinista govt in Nicaragua using a bunch of coke smugglers they called the contras after congress had explicitly forbidden Reagan from doing so with the Boland Amendment.

“….One file withheld, regarding the Iran- contra affair, was a draft memo from Roberts to his bosses with the heading "re: establishment of NHAO" -- referring to the Nicaraguan Humanitarian Assistance Office.
The office was one of the ways the Reagan administration got around what were known as the Boland amendments, which prohibited U.S. intelligence agencies from spending money to overthrow the Sandinistas….” WaPo

"..... On February 10, 1986, Owen ("TC") wrote North (this time as "BG," for "Blood and Guts") regarding a plane being used to carry "humanitarian aid" to the contras that was previously used to transport drugs. The plane belongs to the Miami-based company Vortex, which is run by Michael Palmer, one of the largest marijuana traffickers in the United States. Despite Palmer's long history of drug smuggling, which would soon lead to a Michigan indictment on drug charges, Palmer receives over $300,000.00 from the Nicaraguan Humanitarian Aid Office (NHAO) -- an office overseen by Oliver North, Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs Elliott Abrams, and CIA officer Alan Fiers -- to ferry supplies to the contras.

State Department contracts from February 1986 detail Palmer's work to transport material to the contras on behalf of the NHAO....." National Security Archives

2. What nerve. What nerve these people have of rewarding criminals.
In my mind, every person involved in Iran-Contra is a criminal whether pinned to law breaking in a court or not. They worked to operate a secret sub-government without oversight to the people through our COngresspeople. They simply created a new government to their liking which looks like it pushed drugs to create operating money since they couldn't ask Congress for money since it was all secret. I call these peple traitors and Roberts is a traitor. It is plain and simple.

These people have nerve. Good surpasses evil. If the Republicans carry him onto the Supreme Court now or later - the guy is a menace. What a deceiver with his quiet boyish absent from the room fixed smile. He exemplifies everything in this country.

3. This needs to get out there. Please pass this along.
It's going to take a lot of spreading the word to get the msm to follow this. They would rather talk about missing white girls.

The msm never reported that the cocaine smuggling rumors that Ollie, The DEA, and the CIA all denied during the Iran-Contra hearings, turned out to be absolutely true. No denying it anymore.

The above linked NSA documents, that weren't released until last year, as Reagan lay dying and the statute of limitations had long passed on any crimes committed, prove that Ollie was heavily involved in the drug smuugling and that he was in constant communication with senior administration officials about it, including some that now serve in W's admin.

Yet another failure of our msm to do its job.

It now appears that Roberts, who was a whitehouse council at the time, may have helped create the loophole NHAO that allowed the whole thing to go down.

10. So Roberts and Ollie North?
Seems they go way back together. Way back to the days of Iran Contra. Interesting.

Funny Ollie North's name just came up on another thread in regards to the Lockerbie bombing which is also related to the Crash at Gander another tragedy that Ollie was involved in.

Also, Ollie and Rev. Pat Robertson go way back to this time period too, when Pat was lending Ollie his planes from Operation Blessing to help run drugs for the Contras.

Somehow all of this ties together.

Here's more
A little on why the msm failed to cover this story

"An August, 1996, series in the San Jose Mercury News by reporter Gary Webb linked the origins of crack cocaine in California to the contras, a guerrilla force backed by the Reagan administration that attacked Nicaragua's Sandinista government during the 1980s. Webb's series, "The Dark Alliance," has been the subject of intense media debate, and has focused attention on a foreign policy drug scandal that leaves many questions unanswered......"
National Security Archives
http://tinyurl.com/2cnjj

"...Gary Webb (August 31, 1955 - December 10, 2004) was an American investigative journalist best known for his 1996 "Dark Alliance" series for the San Jose Mercury News in which he explored the Contra-crack cocaine connection (it was later published as a book under the same title). His controversial and highly damaging revelations were disputed at the time, and the affair effectively ended his career as a journalist......
.....under mounting pressure, San Jose Mercury News executive editor Jerry Ceppos published a retraction on May 11, 1997, claiming the Dark Alliance series fell short of his standards. Webb was reassigned to a suburban bureau one hundred fifty miles from his home. Because of the long commute, Webb quit the paper in December, 1997, but by then his marriage had fallen apart and his career had been destroyed.....
......On December 10, 2004, he was found dead from gunshot wounds to the head. While acknowledging that the two fatal shots that had entered through the back of his head was unusual, coroner Robert Lyons determined that it was suicide. It subsequently became known that Webb had been suffering from clinical depression for many years. This information was ascertained only after the fact. Further investigation of the evidence indicates that the CIA murdered Gary Webb and engaged in a suicide cover-up...."

Gary Webb was not only right, and his career ruined, and 'supposedly' committed suicide by two gunshots to the head (excuse me???),...
http://tinyurl.com/d9b2n
....the msm failed to cover the fact that documents released last year (before his death, wonder what he was working on??) confirmed that the republican's favorite president, you know the one who began the "war on drugs" and "just say no", had senior officials in his admin, some who are in Bush's current admin, aiding and abetting a coke smuggling ring.

16. Here's Even More GOP Drug smuggling Info to Consider
I haven't had much of a chance to go over this yet, but this was shared on a thread I started over at dkos on the same topic.
http://www.dailykos.com/comments/2005/8/28/95721/2877/2#2

"John Poindexter and Hank Asher"

One of the really weird Bush 43 - Iran/Contra connections was John Poindexter's...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Poindexter
..... involvement with Total Information Awareness, which relied upon a database called the MATRIX, developed by a former drug smuggler named Hank Asher.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hank_Asher

While Asher has never been tied directly to Iran/Contra, the time frames certainly fit and Palmer's cocaine was funnelled through the Bahamas , where Asher had his base of operations, by a "contract pilot". I have often wondered why Bush 43 was rewarding so many Iran/Contra figures and why the connection between drug smuggling and TIA.

BTW, the DOJ website has a good summary of the fallout from Webb's series. The series also led Maxine Waters to conduct hearings in South Central on the CIA/crack connection.
http://www.usdoj.gov/oig/special/9712/ch01p1.htm

I'm glad to see this pick up some steam.
Anyone else able to to some digging on this??

This is blowing my mind.

I first ran across Ollie's '04 declassified emails working on a research paper followup on the Sandinista-Contra(US) War, and I just couldn't believe it.

I sorta knew Webb's story and a lil about the Kerry commission findings, but there was no hard proof until last year of Ollie's involvement and how far up the chain the knowledge went.

Then when the WaPo story suggested Judge Roberts may have had a role in the agency (NHOA) that allowed the charade to last as long as it did beyond Congress' purview, I know this is big.

How does the GOP get away with this crap??

Baffling.

If you look at all the people involved in Iran-Contra that are still somehow part of the administration it blows your mind as you say.
Lets assume that Iran-Contra is only a small piece of the puzzle.
If we were to solve the puzzle we would finally see a huge organization involved in drug dealing on a humongous world scale. From Afghanistan, to Albania and South America to the US.
As with Iran-Contra the money generated is used to fund secret programs to weaken foreign government, spy upon American citizens, arm rebels in several countries etc...
If this is tied in with what Sibel Edmonds is implying then we are facing the biggest governmental criminal organization ever.
When all is revealed and * and Co are sitting in jail we will be truly amazed at the extent to which we let it happen.

How much before the lemmings stop running over the cliff.

Maybe the act of asking a corporation to do anything for us, has these kinds of results. Big men doing big evil deeds under the carpet of capitalism. Maybe we have enabled it all along.

Democrats Seeking Release of Withheld Roberts Documents
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/24/AR2005082402016_2.html

"After the release of about 60,000 documents detailing the work of Supreme Court nominee John G. Roberts Jr., Democratic senators are setting their sights on what was not in the huge cache of papers: more than 2,100 memos and letters that have been withheld by government archivists working in concert with the Bush White House....

....This approach is colliding with Bush's preference, long predating this Supreme Court fight, to enhance presidential power -- often by claiming privilege for sensitive documents and conversations.....

.....Many withheld documents seem to clearly fit within the privacy exemption, including a memo from November 1984 detailing Roberts's holiday plans. In other instances, archivists are keeping documents on controversial issues of the 1980s -- or portions of those documents -- secret, for reasons that are not self-explanatory.

One file withheld, regarding the Iran- contra affair, was a draft memo from Roberts to his bosses with the heading "re: establishment of NHAO" -- referring to the Nicaraguan Humanitarian Assistance Office.

The office was one of the ways the Reagan administration got around what were known as the Boland amendments, which prohibited U.S. intelligence agencies from spending money to overthrow the Sandinistas. The office was a way the administration could get funds to the contras for nonmilitary purposes, but once there the money was used for all sorts of things......"

company. Fun and games in their eyes.

I believe the Iran-Contra was one of the greatest scam-crimes of the last 100 years.

It was a secret sub-government. Arrogant. Blatant crime. I am also furious at our leaders to this day, because it could not have been secret from them.

25. I still believe Jr. outed Barry Seals resulting in his death and others.
I also believe that the "George Bush" POW Manuel Noriega told the International Community was "his best Cocaine customer" was Jr. Drop everything! We Must Invade Panama RIGHT FREAKIN" NOW!

Did he advise on how derail the initial claim of treason against Reagan? When Reagan "Officially" declared "War on Drugs." We are at war if Congress does not dessent and allows this official declartion to go forward unchallenged. They have basically fiven the President a tacit approval and a blank check. The next line "This is not a real war." Is nothing more than a Ruse of War. Much like the term War on Drugs. We are killing and capturing Americans in this Paramilitary Civil War. He threw America a Curveball. Drugs much like WMD's are simply a vehicle to deliver the War to the States and local communities. Even the terrorist Harry J. Anslinger wasn't Brazen enough to say "War on Drugs." That would be a Constitutionally defined act of Treason. Harry J. Anslinger is the Father of "A War LIKE effort against drugs." Ronald Reagan is the father of "The War on Drugs" and other Ruses of War.
