1. Because the corporate media are all saying he's a shoe-in.
I don't think Bushco should be allowed to nominate anybody or make any policy while there's an "ongoing investigation".

5. Bolton was a shoe-in, too
And Chimpy had to wait until Congress left town to do the recess appointment thing. Now we have a UN ambassador who doesn't have any credibility, and the other UN member nations know they can safely ignore Bolton's loonier rantings or just run the clock on him without fear of any penalty.

It should be easy enough to delay Roberts' nomination: Just insist that before the Senate approves young Mr. Roberts for his lifetime appointment, it is necessary that they have a chance to review his entire record. The White House nominated him; it can't possibly come as a surprise to the administration that the Senate needs to consider the entirety of his record in order to carry out its constitutional duty to advise and consent.

Would YOU hire someone for life without a thorough check of his background and record?

2. I still haven't seen any Pubs in Congress jumping ship.

Sure, Hagel is talking against the war, but that's a different issue. I think, unless something bad comes out in the hearings, it's probably going to be Justice Roberts.

Edited title. I must e brain dead today...put the wrong damn party in the title! Sorry!!

7. Still he won't slide
80,000 have applied for FOIA files on Roberts. He will not skate through without exposure. The problem is that the Repubs are in power and there is really not a lot Dems can do to stop them. Not in the end.
