Kerry declared winner of the New Hampshire Democratic primary
On C-span. The Suffolk University polls has called the race. Isn't this great? Now voters don't even have to show up for the polls.

I just hope they'll call the Super Bowl and the Oscars to save me the trouble of watching.

12. But according to Newsweek...
52 percent of voters don't want Bush "re"elected while only 44% do.   So let's boot him out now and inaugurate Generic Democrat ;)

5. This constant polling is much more than other years. We're swamped with
polls and it could depress turnout if the Media keeps doing this. It's one more way to mess up an election. Many folks will say: Oh, well if Kerry's already won, why bother. This is not good.

10. Thomas Frank's Take
To bring some of Thomas Frank's cultural criticism into the political arena, my paraphrase of Frank's critique of the explosion of polls in magazines and newspapers during the 1990s when applied to political polling is that this is simlpy one more bullshit way to appear egalitarian and in touch with the Everyman and Everywoman.

I don't and can't do Frank justice; I suggest "One Market Under God..." a fantastic book.

But I share the same sentiment given my background in political science and my profession in research, specifically statistics for social science. Even when done properly polls are still not too far removed from reading animal intestines. The big problem is few people take the time to do them properly. Since most people are ignorant of the statistical issues damning polls, most people remain ignorant to the overwhelming mendacity of polls.

8. I noticed....
The guy on C-SPAN said we are predicting Kerry to win in a land slide. But we can't guaranty that. In that case, the world is coming to an end, hey, but I can't guaranty that. *lol*
