Bush still pushing idiotic Flypaper Theory, and the media lets it fly.
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 10:12 PM by The Night Owl
Just today, at yet another press conference of stupidity, Bush got a chance to yet again reiterate his inoperative Flypaper Theory to reporters that apparently don't see a problem with it.

Why do reporters let Bush get away with the idiotic argument that fighting in Iraq somehow prevents terrorism in America? The London bombings utterly disproved the Flypaper Theory, but our illustrious news media lets Bush promote it at what seems like every speech.

Just once, I would like a reporter to ask Bush to explain the nuts and bolts of the Flypaper Theory. Just once, I would like to hear a reporter ask Bush why London was not protected by his Flypaper Theory. Of course, we have all been trained to have low expectations of Mr. Bush, reporters especially, so of course no one ever asks him to explain anything he says. We just can't have too many of those awkward moments in which Bush is at a loss for answers.

1. To answer your question:
The real reporters are being held captive and were replaced by parrots.

2. I have long bemoaned the corporate media but
there is a significant dynamic interwoven in a MSM that acts like shrubs cheer section.
The country is hypnotized ala Rove by the idea that ass hat truly is the 'war president.' Question the Resident and you hurt our troops. War Is a Force That Fucks Up Everything.

3. I say the FP theory is working excellently
Bush not for the WH.

McClellan was asked: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/07/20050712-4.html#10 (he just babbles).

Reporters are supposed to report, not opine.

Besides, it's easy to see the fallaciousness of much of the WH rhetoric which is designed to give reasons for their base not to abandon ship -- they don't need anything more than spurious arguments.

In fact, I believe the more the flypaper theory is put forth at this point, the more people are saying to themselves 'that's a load of crap'.

Over half of Americans smell the crap for what it is ... let them say stupid things. Ameicans are reactive - we way overreacted (to put it lightly) to 9/11 - so the more the WH says stupid things, the more things there are to react to.
