Newsweek on Patrick Fitzgerald! I love it.

I just posted this on another thread. Thought it was funny, and classic Karl Rove. It's from a Newsweek article about Patrick Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald is intentionally keeping reporters and everyone else guessing as to what's really going on in his head. Last week, NEWSWEEK has learned, after Time's Matthew Cooper provided grand-jury testimony on his July 11, 2003, conversation with Karl Rove, Robert Luskin, Rove's attorney, placed a call to Fitzgerald to make sure he didn't need anything more from Rove in light of Cooper's claims. Fitzgerald didn't bite: "We'll get back to you," the prosecutor replied curtly and quickly got off the line.

Fitz may have the goods on Rove after Cooper's testiomy. Cooper was the last piece of the puzzle on Rove's involvement in all of this and Judy is the last piece of the puzzle on Scooter's involvement.

He is definitely not a Republican. This Newsweek article doesnt talk about his party affiliation, but it has been noted in other articles that he is deliberately nonpartisan and not registerd to any party.

6. Kenneth Starr made us forget

With his office's leaking of testimony and sub rosa conduits to various news and pseudonews agencies, Kenneth Starr's investigation was the epitome of what an investigation was NOT supposed to be. Through selective releases of information, Starr's office put pressure on witnesses, tipped off subjects and targets, and generally established a legal reign of terror in Washington in an effort to get the Clinton administration.

Even when he presented his investigation to the House of Representatives, Starr stepped way over the line, presenting as an advocate rather than a disinterested recitation of his findings. Fitzgerald, on the other hand, has not been leaking to the press (which has its own drawbacks, mostly the constant empty speculation of the media talking chuckleheads, but no one should pay any attention to them anyway), has not been trying his case in the media, and is not tipping off his subjects and his targets.

It is driving the corrupt Bush administration nuts, as it should.
