RW blogger says Rove, Libby should "take one for the team"
http://wizbangblog.com/archives/006546.php

If either Libby or Rove can be tied to the memo it's game over for them. I'm still wholly underwhelmed by the story, but given the details that have emerged (and are likely to emerge), it's just about time that both Rove and Libby take one for the team and step down.

3. It Seems As If They Do Hate America
Have you ever seen the Democratic Party or Liberals purposely excluding and targeting Right Wingers the way these people do? What about personal responsibility or civil obligation to each other, and to hold those in leadership roles accountable for their mistakes and worse, crimes?

These pricks are a ban of thugs. All they care about is their own personal gains. All else can go to hell. Well f*ck them is what I say. They can either be a part of the system or leave. I believe they are dimantling the very system that keeps all of us from barbarism.

6. The team? WTF? "Take one for the fascists" is more like it
What does this administration know about teamwork, other than sitting on the sidelines, coked out in a cheerleading uniform?

7. Oh, now it's "can be tied to the memo"...........
:eyes: the target keeps moving. Although I think it's pretty clear that both and probably more are in this up to their necks, I just LOVE the way the Slugs keep changing the qualifiers for Rove's, Libby's etc. dismissal.
How about just plain old outing a covert CIA Agent, isn't that enough?
:wtf: Treason, obstruction of Justice, perjury.......take your pick, there's plenty of charges to chose from and they'll all stick.
Bush's inane, "pinky swear" allegiance to his butt buddy Rove is going to be his undoing. It couldn't happen to nicer fellows, but this idiotic protection of a traitor to his country is too much. Do the Republicans stand for nothing? Are they more concerned for their Party and Pals than they are for our Country? It certainly appears that way, and they can kiss any hopes of retaining control of Congress good-bye in '06. And that's the GOOD news! (for them) The Democrats will control this country for decades due to their arrogance and misplaced allegiances.

8. Right! It was some little memo which caused this. (sarcasm) The real case

is far different and suggests Rove is extraordinarily guilty. In face he will likely multiple indictments.

After we learned on Friday that there were 11 contacts, and we realize that there were at least 3 initial sources (Liddy, Rove, and the source who refused to specifically release Miller), we realize that such an operation had to be "coordinated." Then we realize the world master of such coordination about leaking information to hurt a political opponent just happens to be right there in the administration . . . Well, it wouldn't be as hard as rocket science for someone like Rove, but he would have definitely received the tack of coordinating the leaks (making sure no initial source spoke to another initial sources primary contacts, which would seem too eager; being clear that the information be released in a fairly nonchalant manner; rounding up a few administration officials beyond the primary leakers to be ready to confirm the story if a reporter calls; etc.)

Beside leaking, then, he lead a conspiracy to leak. As we learned Friday from Bloomberg that his testimony, as that of Cheney's aide Scooter Libby, is at variance with at the testimony of at least 2 reporters (Novak and Cooper--I hear of one more today, Pincus?) who had no reason to lie. Therefore both of them may well face perjury charges.

And guess who would have coordinated the cover up? Beginning with that stupid story of primary sources hearing Plame's name from reporters (trying to obscure the issue), and the ridiculous story of Plame's identity being well know in the beltway (to which only two reporters claimed knowledge: Novak and GANNON--yes, he's in this story too, probably because Rove thought that the public would believe that if even this unknown reporter heard about it it must be true . . . And doesn't that have Rove's fingerprints all over it???)

Therefore: leaking, leading a conspiracy to leak, perjury, leading a conspiracy to perjure by suborning others' perjury, etc.

And there are, as we we're told on Meet the Press this a.m., there are other laws like a 1917 security act that was broken, a law which made leaks of such information a felony.

There's no way out, not even for this crew, shy of dramatically breaching the constitution with a radical act that this congress, such as it is, will never stand for.
