John Conyers and other African-American's protecting democracy...
Has anyone else noticed how many African-American's like John Conyers are doing more to protect our democracy more than many whites? Every day I get up I am so thankful that Americans like him and Charlie Rangle exist and put such a good fight up everyday.

Now, I'm not saying that there aren't many whites out there doing this, but what I admire so much is the hard work American's like these two African-Americans do on all out our behalf.

What really torques me off though is the disrespect I see rightwingers aim Rangle's way when he talks of war. The man is a wounded war veteran and those asses treat him sometimes like he is a crack pot.

2. My daughter and I have been referring to the repukes as
"old white men" long before Dean got in trouble for calling them the party of white Christians.

We do have a few white men who stick up for our party. People like Dean, Kucinich, and Reid do a good job.

But the outspoken African-Americans may save our party. Maybe they are so used to being in a minority position, that they have everything to gain by kicking and screaming, and little to lose. And maybe some of us Democrats were not paying enough attention to the African American leaders before 2000. I think many of them have been doing what they do for a long time.
