Haven't heard of the DSM in awhile....
I know this RoveGate thing is pretty damning for the administration, and we should be focusing on it, but we've lost sight of the DSM and the big picture. We NEED to tie these issues together to show the seriousness of what is going on in this administration. Here's how we should be framing this issue, at least in my humble, non-sensical opinion :D

Wilson returned from Niger (who sent him there is of NO importance) with evidence showing that Bush's claims that Saddam had purchased Uranium from there were false. This was bad news for the BushCo people, as they had already made up their mind to go to war and as stated in the infamous Downing Street Memo, were "fix facts and intelligence" around that policy. Wilson dedunked some of their "fixed" intelligence, and as an administration preparing for war, this was BAD. So, Rove took it upon himself (or did he?) to out "Wilson's wife" (i.e. Valerie Wilson/Plame, which is all the identifier anyone would need to determine who she is, the outing of her full legal name is not a requirement for identifying a CIA operative). At the time she was working for BJA (Brooks Jennings and Assoc., I think) which was a CIA front-company investigating WMD claims. Knowing this, as well as the administrations desire to alter intelligence to support their case for war (DSM people!!!!), we should be concerned that this was nothing more than strong-arm tactics to shut up those who might dissent and discredit those in the intelligence community who were not so eager to make shit up to take us to war.

Aside from the legal aspects of outing a CIA operative, Rove and BushCo are guilty of using intimidation to silence anyone who would dare question their case for war, and this is even more troubling. We should be demanding justice regarding Rove's actions, but after that's all finished and overhyped, we should look into other false WMD claims. Were others with information debunking the administrations claims intimidated into silence as well? or were they fired before they could make their findings?

Then we should start talking about the Abu Gharib pictures that have yet to be released, but were promised to the public by June 30th. Then we need to turn ALL of this crap into the issue of "too much secrecy in the White House." We demand accountability!! This way, we can hopefully keep all of these issues in the public eye, not just one at a time (Lies, scandal, and torture, all rolled into one). As it is, everyone forgets about the last scandal, because everyone is too busy talking about the newest one. We need to ensure that people start to see the real scandal as George Bush and the criminals in the White House, not just Karl Rove. More is at stake here than the simple outing of a CIA operative, and we need to remember that and force others to do the same.

2. Of course it is.
The yellowcake scam was part of the "fixed" intelligence. It's all the same story of lies and criminal activity from a corrupt gang of treasonous bastards.

3. Sure you have. The whole Rove thing is all about lying to go to war
I don't know that its helpful to be narrow in our view of how the media likes to play it.

Its all about lying to go to war.

5. I know that they're linked
but we need to convince the Democratic Leadership, media, et al., to mention the link. I haven't heard the phrase "Downing street memo" uttered by just about anyone in the media since RoveGate broke.

Glad to see we all agree however! I'm so excited by all of this, but also cautious, who knows what is going to happen with all of this, but I tend to think that justice will win out.
