Poll question: How much Air America Radio do you listen to?
Air America can suck all three of my balls, because of their little exclusive deal that takes them off of my wonderful Sirius radio. But I was thinking, I only listen to Al Franken, so really, this doesn't bother me. I am now looking forward to more choices on Sirius. Anyways, in the midst of all this, I decided to make a poll!

1. I tune in once in a great while but since
I am hearing impaired I miss more than I catch. I prefer print material like on the net or TV, where I at least have lips to read if there is no closed captioning.

6. Oh, gawd -- noon to 3
I listen to Randi on the computer. I like to hear her live, anway. That way I can call in sometimes.

The Dakota guy lost me one day when he criticized Howard Dean and Move On in one show.

7. Remember a couple of years ago when there were zero
progressive radio stations? Now people are bitching because AAR has struck a deal which they believe will be more profitable? Man oh man, I guess there's just no pleasing some people. FYI people who bitch, Stephanie Miller and Ed Schultz are hugely popular and are not on AAR. I answered two, because I listen to Randi and Maddow when I'm up that early. Garafalo and Seder are ok, haven't listened to Springer and Morning Sedition kinda sucks. And RFK jr. kinda sucks too, but the guy on with him is ok so sometimes I listen to them on Saturdays.

14. I agree but....
I guess I wish there were more liberal talk show hosts so we could fill two channels, without AAR.

I bought sirius not because it had full AAR, but because it had two liberal channels.. so if I hated the chucklehead on one channel.. I had a second to choose from.

Well.. it'll take time to build a stable of that many hosts.. but I'm probably going to drop Sirius when my year of subscription is up.

I guess I'm lucky to have a Pacifica station to compare to.

I respect yer opinions, but bitching about AAR is in everybody's right.

I love her voice. I know she has a news show but I am too lazy to wake myself up for it the morning. Right now I am on a news purge and try to ger very little in the way of all news. Here is my air america viewing habbits in a nutshell.
1: Al Franken : I switch him off right when Mark Luther comes on. I really cant stand listening to rwingers.
2: Randy Rhodes : The first hour to get the topic of the day
3: Majority Report first hour
4: Mike Malloy for about two hours. Its abattle between him and jon stewart is this ocd :D

each day. (She's on vacation this week, though.)

12. Pacifica
I tend to listen to KPFA more than anything, but I wont listen to Ed Schulz, or Jerry Springer. And they take about 6 hours out of the day here on the KQAK.

Randi has her moments, but I miss Mark & morning sedition, but I'm not getting up at 3am to listen. :(

for some reason I only get reception it in my car, not in my house, so I have the radio on crummy old NPR in the house. But whenever I drive which is unfortunately a lot I listen to AAR and sometimes I listen in on my computer .

17. I listen(ed) from 6am-7pm Mon.-Fri.
At least until today when AAR went to XM. I spent almost $200 on Sirius hardware based on the fact that they played AAR's complete line-up. Now that they are gone, I am not going to spend more money to follow them to XM. I will give Sirius Left a shot and see how it goes from there. Good bye Air America, it was fun while it lasted. :hi:

18. There are way too many to choose from! :)
The only AAR shows I listen to live are Mike Malloy (until about 12 - I can never stay up later) and Randi.

I usually listen to Thom Hartmann at 12 and either Stephanie Miller or Thom Hartmann at 9.

Ooh, and I usually listen to Laura Flanders, Ecotalk, and Ring of Fire (love them!) on the weekends. I try and catch Majority Report when I can, but I'm usually listening to On Point or the Young Turks at 7.

I just got XM though so hopefully I'll be able to listen to more in the car.

Getting a job changed that. :) I would listen to the network in the car more often, but the AM signal around here is so weak that it's useless where I live.

I will keep Sirius mainly for Little Steven's Underground Garage channel. I listen to Air America sometimes, but I spend way too much time reading about the same topics here and on other sites. Gotta do some other things sometimes...

25. I still listen a lot..............
Actually, I like all of the AAR hosts, although, IMO, only Mike Malloy is a "must listen". I've also been listening a lot to Radiopower.org . I think Thom Hartmann is very good and often listen to him instead of Franken. Thank goodness for streaming and satellite radio. I can't listen to Limbaugh, Hannity and similar bottom feeders for more than five minutes without wanting to kill my radio.

26. None. Philadelphia station transmitter runs on AAA batteries
or at least it sounds that way WHEN I CAN PICK IT UP.

Most of the day, it's African-American news, talk and programming, including an Islamic show broadcast in Arabic on Saturday.

From Noon - 6, it's Al and Rhandi, but that's it. That's it for AA in the City of Brotherly Love.

Fifth largest city in America, Dark Blue, and what do we get? Our big station here is "The Big Talker", which is All Hate, All the Time (when it's not broadcasting the Phils). Most mornings I get in my car, and it's blaring hate radio, because the SO was blasting the Phils game the previous night. Yikes.

31. agree
I'm from the area and have to agree about "The Big Talker". Giordano is the most pathetic of the lot. When I used to work late in the evening about 16 years ago, I would listen to him on the Philly talk station (WWDB?) on my way home from work. The guy was a liberal, very open minded, and I liked his show. Now he is a boot lick Bush shill or more likely a media whore that will say what he has to stay on the air in Philly.

Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 12:14 PM by Totally Committed
which runs most of the AAR line-up, plus Schultz and Stephanie Miller.

I consistently listen to Stephanie Miller and Randi Rhodes (They are Warrior Queens for the cause!), and I only listen to Al Franken when I know Joe Conason is on... otherwise, Al is almost as into the sound of his own voice as Schultz, and I can't take it.
