FREEPERS ALREADY MAKING EXCUSES FOR ROVE
It took me a while to get on the freeper website - they've been really busy today - HA! I find it particularly telling that even one of those stupid freepers has figured out that saying "Wilson's wife" is in the CIA is the same as stating Plame's name. Looks like a DUer infiltrated them - which is always fun! I love how they believe the "left wing media" should concentrate their resources on looking for Hillary Clinton's college thesis!!:wtf:

To: West Coast Conservative
Nothing in the Cooper e-mail suggests that Rove used Plame's name or knew she was a covert operative.
Hair-splitting on whether or not he actually used her name seems pretty pointless to me; "Wilson's wife" is clear enough about who was meant.

I think he's on safer ground when it comes to whether or not he knew she was a covert operative. Cooper's version of what Rove said gives no indication that Rove was aware of that.

To: West Coast Conservative
Don't we wish the media were as diligent in searching for other information, like Hillary's college thesis or Kerry's military records? I guess they can't do everything so they just concentrate on conservative Republicans.

To: CWOJackson
I wouldn't be surprised if this claim about Rove ends up in a deadlock with Cooper saying "he identified Wilson's wife" and Rove saying "no, I did not identify Wilson's wife." In that case, I would certainly believe Rove instead of Cooper. I won't express any opinions about anyone's motives in this case, but you know all about their motives anyway.

To: misspetunia
"Sounds like Rove did blow cover which is a violation of the law. I trust ir will be a big story next week. Our people must obey the law too."
Take a hike Troll. I believe Rove's earlier statements and I don't believe some troll who signed up for FR just this morning. Buzz off, you liberal fool.

2. Hillary's college thesis?
No responsible media or government agency would waste their time investigating anything that was over twenty years old. Why, why that would be frivolous.

Code word: "responsible."

3. Did Hillary even write a college thesis?
She didn't need one to graduate. Maybe they're thinking of the speech she delivered at graduation instead of the one she was supposed to give.

Of course, we all know how incredibly timely any info on Sen. Clinton's college writing would be right now. :eyes:

13. guess who obtained a copy of Hillary's thesis?
It's quite interesting, actually.

Barbara Olson obtained a copy of the thesis, which the college had sealed. Olson obtained it in January 2000 after much hue and cry from conservatives because it contained material about the radical Saul Alinsky.

I will always believe that Olson had someone steal it.

Barbara Olson's Newsday column about the thesis is posted here:

14. I graduated from Wellesley in 1976
There was no senior thesis required and no indication that it used to be required. Perhaps it was a major paper written for a senior year poli sci course that they got hold of.

4. How about Rove's college thesis?
Oh, wait, guess it doesn't exist if he never went to college.

7. Rove wouldn't have one
Oh, he went to college, many colleges in fact, but he never actually earned a degree. He's one of these people who just knocked around from school to school, never actually finishing what he started.

10. You are right.
I thought I had read that he didn't go to college. Must have read that he never graduated from college. He left because a "better opportunity" came along:

Oxymoronically, Rove dropped out of college to become executive director of the College Republicans, all the while practicing dirty tricks on behalf of the candidates of his choice. According the Post, these tricks included identity theft, petty larceny and campaign fraud. Rove characterized these felonies and misdemeanors as a "youthful prank."

His parents must have been so proud.

6. Let the LEGAL HAIRSPLITTING begin!
Remember those two words? Along with "parsing"? Relics from the Lewinsky era!

Remember though that we were promised in the 2000 campaign that all this stuff would not be a part of the morally perfect Bush Administration. Shrub would come riding in to Washington, D.C.on a white horse from Austin (where the locals hate him, btw) and restore integrity to the office from the moment he put his hand on the Bible to take the oath of office. There was going to be absolute truth telling, straight shooting with the American people and a new tone in Washington.

Remember the promises folks.

8. I like this comment from AmericaBlog...
"Bush said he wanted to get to the bottom of this over a year ago. Why then did we have to waste all this money on a special prosecutor and a grand jury if Rove knew from day one that he was the guy who leaked Plame's identity? If Rove was so innocent, why didn't he just come forward immediately and say "yeah, it was me, but I didn't realize she was undercover"?"

12. Yes, I read that earlier. It is a VERY good point
and I'm glad to see you picked up on it too.

Why indeed didn't Rove come forward when he knew that the matter was being investigated? He knew DAMN well what he had done, yet said nothing.

He let the investigation go forward and the grand jury be empaneled in hopes they wouldn't find him out.

He's such a weasel.
