3. I'm perplexed ANYONE would want to keep it open...
even if you're a gung ho republican, they've admitted we've gotten NO useful intelligence from it.

5. The question may be a bit simplistic
It might be ok to have a prison where people believed to be "terrorists" are held.

But they should not be tortured there. They should be held until their trials, and treated in accordance with international law governing POWs.

So maybe the question should read...

Prisoners at Guantanamo should be:

(a) tortured.

(b) put on trial.

I think in this case you would see over 90% supporting "put on trial".

6. Closing it accomplishes nothing , in my opinion.
They will just move the "terrorists" to a more obscure location.
Besides costing us millions more, it would take the spotlight
off how the US treats their prisoners.

I think that would be making yet another huge mistake.

16. I can't vote for closing it - the prisoners will just be moved - Diego
Garcia island or Georgia or Egypt? The poll and the positions are all wrong. It's not the geography. It's the torture and torment. Geography means nothing except that it could be even worse somewhere else.

No to closing it - how many inspectors are going to fly to or get into some other more remote prison in the Indian Ocean or another ocean or a closed country - closed by virtue of the games that are played in telling truth?

Guantanamo is our NAVY. Makes a big difference. Keep it open and try to get ALL THE INNOCENTS out of there.
