Does anyone else find Kerry to be ...The Hollow Tall Man?
That is the only way I can describe this guy. A man always changing postions to reflect current headlines. A man willing to smear a fellow Dem for the sake of a vote. A man that was so down and out he had to borrow against his own home to keep his campaign going. A man that has defended *Bush and at the same time smeared a fellow Dem by calling him a repuke.

Kerry, The Hollow Tall Man!

1. When he's angry he's good
and then his emotions just sort of die down. I worry more about his desire to keep up the fight.

3. I actually have seen him since Iowa losing focus
The many spots i've seen him in since iowa, he comes across as wondering . As if he wished it was all over. That was my judgement anyway.

2. Yes, he's not perfect.
But remember one thing: Height is the single most important factor in an election. Edwards has two of the other important factors: good looks and a nice personality.

19. I'm not looking for perfection...
which is just as well since I support Dean. ;-) However, I do think we need someone who, like Clinton, will never let up in the fight. Dean's positions, as well as his toughness in this race, inspire me.

4. Not hollow, exactly
I just think that he's too, what i would call "Washingtonized". I find him a little uncharismatic(?), stilted, lacking in spontanaity. Obviously much brighter than dim son, but behind Clark, Edwards, and even Dean in personality or likability.

IOW, I think the shots at Clark and Dean were given to him by his handlers - not something he would have done off the cuff.

8. He said those words
He is the person directly responsible for what happens with his campaign.

6. people see what they want to see in candidates
For instance, when I look at Dean I see fire and passion. But I also see a severely flawed candidate who's weaknesses work against Bush's strengths.

When I look at Clark I see a guy with tons of talking points and a great resume, but probably no real feelings behind any of the things he says.

When I look at Edwards I see a real shining star, but in the sense of a scout looking at a great Triple-A baseball player. I wonder if he has the stature to win as the nominee.

So it all depends on your own perceptions. I find it hysterical how there's only four major candidates, yet if you read this board you'll find 4,000 different opinions on them all.

16. often true
For instance, you said that Clark has no real feelings behind what he says. This is a guy who had no reaon to get into politics except that he cares, he certainly didn't need a job. I find your perception of him odd to say the least.

7. Kerry, The Hollow Tall Man!
I would ask you to look at his complete record before dismissing him as an empty suit.

· Vietnam War hero: Volunteered for service in Vietnam and received the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and three Purple Hearts. Son of an American diplomat.

· Anti-war hero: Founded Vietnam Veterans Against the War and was the chief veteran to testify before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, at age 27.

· As U.S. senator, he served for 18 years on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, including investigating the Iran-Contra and BCCI scandals, and chairing the Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs, which opened full diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Vietnam. Ranking Democrat on the East Asian and Pacific Affairs Subcommittee and chairman of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Terrorism, Narcotics and International Operations.

· Wrote The New War (1997) on national security issues of the 21st century and unjust wars, and has made numerous trips over the past 20 years to discuss international issues with world leaders, including at the United Nations and in the Middle East.

" the same time smeared a fellow Dem by calling him a repuke "

that is without merit. Please show some evidence of what you are saying.

13. IMO I think of him more as the cowardly lion...
Hiding behind dirty politics, so he doesn't have to face the real issues head on.

That describes most of the opposition to John Kerry's voting record.

Echoing all of the popular proposals and positions, cherry-picking, and throwing stones, knowing all the while that they would not have to vote on any of these issues. If they had any dignity they would'nt be sticking it to those who were tasked with the responsibility of crafting and actually voting for these bills.
