Should he have retired quite some time ago? He says that he tried to resign twice but Bush asked him to stay on... Is that any reason to cling to a job in which you have been a failure? A job where torture has taken place on a regular occurrence? A job where the military mission was underestimated and screwed up royally? A job where the military has almost depleted its possible recruitment ranks? A job where lies have been the norm since the first days of WMD lies? A job where he has lost the trust and respect of the Congress? A job of indescribable incompetence? Isn't it time to try and resign for the third time?

4. Maybe...
what he told Kennedy was an indication that he really wants out, but doesn't see a way to do it.

Has the misadministration evolved (bad choice of word) to the point that it's like being in the mob, you just don't get out???

3. I have questions. Imagine that...
He says he tried to resign twice. Since I've never applied for a job a Sec of anything, I'm not sure what the obligations are.

Couldn't he have just stopped going to the office, and put on call block ? Is it the pension, he loses it if he quits? What gives?
