CLINTON COUNTY IOWA rumorsonthe'internets'

I want to improve upon the one we have here. List any features you like about your county website, or dislike. Feel free to post links to other websites (political or Not)you think have a great design or useful features. What unique ways are you utilizing the 'internets' at the county or city level?

Please help keep this kicked.

Thank You EvilDUers! :yourock:

Monroe County Democratic Party
<http://www.monroedems.org/>

I think it is pretty well designed - I especially like the information about early voting and "where's my polling place?" - I says that it was last updated on 10/24/04 -- but it has links to news items for 2005.

70. Hey, how ya doin'?
I'm actually West of Smyrna, South of Marietta, and just north of the E/W Expressway in the County.

"Notes from the 4th Estate?" Are you a professional writer?

Let me ask you, have you put you DU bumper sticker on your car/truck yet? Do you think doing so here might invite the "locals" to vandalize a car with a DU sticker?

72. I'm at the corner
of atlanta road and paces ferry.

And no - definitely not a professional writer. more like a very lazy blogger who hasn't updated in months. :p

I don't have a DU sticker on my car yet, it's still sporting a bruise from where my kerry sticker used to be. I intend to put a Red Clay Democrats sticker on it tho.

I wish we had DU stickers like the Euro Country of Origin stickers - those are cool.

In any case - I'm not sure the locals would vandalize your car at home - you may get crap at work, if it's one of those family-type environments. That's why i peeled the Kerry sticker off mine after the election - i was getting crap. I wish i had never bowed to the pressure.

IIRC, its one of the top ten largest counties in the US. That's why the Repub controlled news media works so hard to filter the news here.

The Central Committee usually has to meet in the convention center.

Never thought to look for it until I read this thread, but here it is:

Doesn't look like they have much up though.

Ashtabula County is both the largest and poorest county in Ohio, and was blue in the 2004 election.

It's improved a lot since the last time I looked at it. And they're raffling off a flyfishing trip with Brian Schweitzer!

101. This is so embarrassing
I'm sure it was some one's nephew that threw it up in an afternoon.

http://www.maricopademocrats.com/

The "webmaster" is azwebdude an incredibly amateurish site mill. looks like he's currently learning flash.

If I were to do a site design I'd go with something along this line

http://rchi.raskincenter.org/aboutarchy/img/zoomdemo.swf

This is an 8 MB flash file that demonstrates a new type of interface. The flash technique used in the demo would IMO make for an interesting and distinct website.
