* called for Doubling to $4000.00 Tax Credit for Hybrids! WTF?!?
In a "Sell the Sh*tty Energy Bill to the Sheep" speech today, * called for Doubling to $4000.00 Tax Credit for Hybrids! WTF?!?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Congress just pass (or * requested in his budget proposal) that the $4000.00 tax credit for "Alternative Fuel" and Electric powered Vehicles be cut to $0.00 (eliminated)?:wtf:

Here's a link to the NPR clip where you can hear him say this:

Bush Urges Domestic, Alternative Energy Sources

<http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4704986>

Listen to this story... by Don Gonyea

All Things Considered, June 15, 2005 · President Bush says it's time for Congress to do something about high oil prices and dependence on foreign oil. Speaking at an energy conference, the president urged increasing incentives for domestic production, alternative energy research and for buying hybrid vehicles.

7. The then-Gov. of Michigan at his side, in front of a crowd of auto workers
Still chuckling, governor? Still laughing, Bush-supporting auto workers?

Didn't think so . . .

11. Oh how I remember.
I was stopped in traffic in California, behind a Toyota Prius that was busily burning no gasoline because it was a hybrid. Jackass was babbling on the radio about how dumb an idea it was to give tax credits for this.

3. Frickin' flip-flopper.
I get so tired of thes Republican flip-floppers, always flip-flopping this way and that whenever it's convenient to flip-flop their way out of a bad spot.

President Flippy-Floppy.

4. By a remarkable coincidence, GM just announced that they will
be putting out a line of hybrids. Therefore this proposal is at least in part a proposal to stimulate GM sales with gov't money. Clever, these slimeballs.

8. And now it looks like all the "new" GM commercials are hitting...
...the rotations hard now.

You know, the one's that talk about how you can get the same "Employee Discount" too, they started running just before the CEO announced 25,000 planned Lay Offs.

9. I guess all those employees left their discounts behind
Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 09:47 AM by Jackpine Radical
when they were laid off, so GM is just recycling the unused discounts. A good environmentally sound thing to do, that recycling stuff, ya know.

10. Yeah, just recycling to maximize profits for all the millionaire coupon
clippers and "Fat Cats."

My Mother told me something new yesterday, that I hadn't heard before.

She said she read that China has been bragging about the new Auto pants they are breaking ground on.

She thinks all this "we're losing money" talk by GM is the first step toward a plan to move Auto Production to China, and than shipping the cars back to the U.S. :evilfrown:

6. Like when he cut the number of kids who could get student loans..
and then upped the benifits a little for the few who could still get it. Claimed he was 'helping'.
