Bll Clinton at Wendy's
Hey, a guy from my office just went out to lunch here in midtown Manhattan and shook Bill Clinton's hand as Clinton was going into Wendy's. I hope he was getting a salad... :)

6. Yeah....
the one on Lex between 44 and 45....right next to the McDonald's.

He said the secret service guys pulled up and Bill got out and shook some hands and then walked into Wendy's. He said Bill was really nice and was concerned about getting in the way of the people who were trying to walk up and down Lex....Also, he said he looked good...and healthy....So that was good to hear. I just hope he's eating healthy.....

21. I liked what Jerry Springer did on AAR
During one of his broadcasts he asked everyone to eat lunch at Wendy's that day because their business had really been hurt by the finger thing. Spreading good will like that might make the Wendy CEO's change their mind about contributions.

12. That's what I always remembered about him
same with my mom, that actually was one of the things she liked about him, he was willing to eat with the people and not hide from them.

18. hehe....
I should have. I bet I could have caught him coming out of Wendy's. If it was Wes, I probably would have tried. :)

One of my co-workers did tease me, saying I'd probably have been more impressed if it had been Wesley Clark.

As it was, I had to settle for seeing young San Francisco Giants (who are in town to play the Mets this weekend) centerfielder Jason Ellison at Prince Deli a few blocks away when I went out.

20. Isn't it funny
Bill C. goes anywhere and is lovingly mobbed. Bush can't go anywhere without the public being screened for political correctness.

Karma is a bitch.

23. Apparently, there was some grumbling
by the people being inconvenienced when the secret service was stopping traffic but as soon as Bill got out of the car, the mood changed and everyone was saying "Hey, it's Bill Clinton" and wanting to shake his hand. My co-worker said there were no negative comments or reactions, just everyone wanting to say hi and how great it was to meet him.

I imagine if it was Bush, the reaction would have been a little different...but then it never would have been Bush. :P

Also, I asked this guy if Bill looked handsome and he said I'd have to ask a woman about that. What is it with men? I don't love women and yet I can still tell if a woman is beautiful but try to get a guy to comment on another guy's good looks....

22. Can you imagine the blivet eating out, impromptu, at ANY fast food
restaurant?

He's so hated that the Secret Service probably would have to ship in brain-washed fundies to be "eaters" and stage every last detail. The whole "swing into Micky Dee's for a Coke and a burger" would take two weeks to plan.

Whereas, the Big Dawg, on the other hand, can just pop out in mid-town Manhattan, grab a Wendy's salad (or their low-fat chili) with just a tiny speck of notice.
