Hillary and Biden fight over Obama — who'll win?
http://www.radaronline.com/fresh-intelligence/2005/05/31/index.php#000829

The Battle For Barack

The 2008 presidential race may still be a ways off, but sources say Democratic hopefuls New York Sen. Hillary Clinton and Delaware Sen. Joe Biden have already clashed in their courtship of potential running mate and presumed party savior Barack Obama. The wooing began not long after Obama won his Illinois senate seat last November when an unofficial “Clinton-Obama 2008” organization began circulating bumper stickers for the possible pairing. Sensing an opening, Clinton quickly bonded with Obama, playing up their shared Chicago roots and partnership on the outré Environmental and Public Works Committee. But Clinton’s gonna have to do a lot better than that if she wants to outplay Biden, sources say. Not only was the silver-haired senator a fixture at Obama’s Chicago campaign fundraisers last year, he also managed to snag his new pal a coveted slot on the decidedly more glamorous Foreign Relations Committee, providing the two with some priceless photo ops in the battleground states of Iraq and Afghanistan. With a recent Pew Research poll showing a majority of Americans supposedly ready to vote for Hillary, the former First Lady isn’t likely to roll over and let Biden poach her hoped-for secret weapon. “Hillary practically adopted Obama, and now Joe’s stealing her baby,” says one Capitol Hill observer. “She’s definitely got a grudge against Biden.” No word on whether either would-be candidate has consulted Obama for his opinion on the matter.

2. No Senator has been elected since 1960.
I think they are both wasting their time and ours.

6. A first term junior senator?
Are you kidding? Paired with another basically junior senator? Why not just admit defeat now and get it over with?

9. Obama should keep his distance from Democrats....
...who are on the Corporate Payroll.
He was smart enough to distance himself from the DLC a few months ago.

<snip from Daily Kos>
"They may love the guy, but Obama wants nothing to do with the DLC. Remember, Obama raised over $3 million from MoveOn members, the very organization the DLC wants purged from the party's ranks. We know where Obama's loyalties lie, and it's wiith the netroots. He's one of ours.

This little episode also highlights the DLC's interesting tactic of slapping up people on the list without asking for permission to do so, an attempt to take credit for peoples' success."

10. Nooooo!
I hope Obama stays clear cause I don't think those 2 ships are going anywhere.

Obama's DNC speech was a calling for unity and be connected to Clinton will automatically divide the nation to his leadership.

Biden on the other hand, just seems too slick to be President. He seems kind of like a used car salesman.

11. This sums up my feelings about Obama
http://www.davidsirota.com/2005/05/whats-happened-to-barack-obama.html

Despite his anti-war positions as a candidate in 2004, Obama's second vote as a U.S. Senator was in support of confirming Condoleezza Rice as Secretary of State. He also voted to confirm John Negroponte as Director of National Intelligence, despite Negroponte's involvement in Iran-Contra and other situations that clearly raise questions about his ethics and discretion. Obama also voted for a bill to limit citizens rights to seek legal redress against abusive corporations. During the bankruptcy debate, he helped vote down a Democratic amendment to cap the abusive interest rates credit card companies could charge. And now, Obama cast a key procedural vote in support of President Bush's right-wing judges.

12. ...and he has said he 'has no position on CAFTA'.
Which means in my opinion he is reluctant to say he is actually in fact for it.

Neither Clinton or Biden will get my vote anyway, so Obama is of little consequence.

13. no sense
Don't they announce runnning mates after winning the nomination??? so whichever wins, he/she gets Obama....

Of course I think Hilary is too female and green as a Senator to win the vote.. we can't put someone up for the race that has no chance.... she is too green, so is Obama.... I mena he WILL be great, but let him get his feet wet!!!!
