Poll question: Why did WH leak Saddam underwear photos?
Its obvious the photos of Saddam in his tightie whities was released on a Friday to keep negative news about R's out of the weekend news cycle. Which story were they trying to stifle?

My guess: George just wants to get fucked up this weekend, and this is a preemptive smokescreen.

3. I think it's their response to Newsweek.
Actually, on this one, I don't think it the WH. I think the media is getting tired of being manhandled by the WH, and they sided with Newsweek on this ezpose stuff. NY Post published the photos including sources to show there are real problems and here's one of them.

12. It was normal fuck-up for Rove & Bush- Abu Grab now this
Iraq is really going not too well, Bush/Rove decide to send Laura Bush over there for what I haven't a clue because American words for trying to ease tensions over failures don't mesn squat.

Before the elcetions Iraqi support was at 85% so says Pentagon reporters today it's at 45%...time will be on the side of the "foreign fighters"
I thought we were the foreign fighters.

US>? going down the toilet with Bush!!

7. They're saying "We still caught the bad guy! Haw-Haw! He's in his UNDIES!"
It's a sort of ritual humiliation of Saddam and at the same time mass "entertainment" calculated to be a media distraction. The runaway bride story got stale so they had to come up with something new. I'm just glad it didn't have to do with more bombs supposedly set by "terra-ists." But that may still come.

10. He wants the Islamic world to hate us even more
Either that, or lobbyists from Calvin Klein had something to do with it.

17. hehe... or maybe they want to keep the Iraqi "insurgency" going..
Only *this* idiotic administration could find a way to make half the world be more sympathetic to Saddam Hussein by leaking those photos. Another example of strataaygeec thinking.

15. Showing a guy
in his underpants is a good form of distraction. Then the discussion gets bogged down in minor details about what Saadam looks like or who leaked them etc.
