In the big swing to the Right--thanks to the short-sighted triangulation strategy, which the Clintons and other DLC-types still advocate - the result is:

The Democrats are moderate Republicans (but still bashed as liberals), the Republicans are fascists and the Democrats who did not sell out are marginalized as kooks.

95% of the Dem Congress are behaving like neutered sheep.

Check their voting records...
The so-called "moderates" or "mavericks" (McCain, Snowe, Collins) only vote against the nutjobs' agenda when the nutjobs can pull enough DLC votes across.
Otherwise, they are in lockstep. Check out Voinovich on the Bolton committee. They might make some noise, but they will refuse to cast a deciding vote against the baby king, because "that would be arrogant".

"Moderate": a distinction without a difference.
