If newsweek hadn't done the story, wouldn't the truth come out eventually? The US isn't going to hold these people until they die, right? When they get out they are going to talk about their treatment. That is probably why afghanistan is so angry. Some of their people have been released and are telling their story. I don't think one article in newsweek is going to set off an entire region. They have been hearing similar stories from other sources for years. But once again, lets blame the media. It's not the policy but talking about it.

A local rw idiot radio pundit said this morning that what goes on in Guantanamo Bay should stay there just like Vegas. These are dangerous terrorist and we can treat them how we want if it is about our security. The press needs to shut up let the military protect us.
