Frist is having Reid over for supper tomorrow (The Hill)
Senate leaders to break bread on Sunday
Could be last supper before "nuclear option"

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) will host Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) at his home Sunday afternoon, providing what may be the last chance for the two leaders to avert a showdown over the so-called "nuclear option" on judicial nominees.

Frist said Friday that he planned to host a group of several senators for a social event at his home, then volunteered that Sen. Pete Domenici (R-N.M.) will be cooking duck for the group. Frist also indicated that he was considering several options to end the judicial filibuster next week, including some that differ from the so-called "nuclear" or "constitutional" option, which involves a parliamentary maneuver executed with a simple majority.

3. Yeah, he should be really careful
especially if they have one of those revolving tables, but just in general. Frist must be nervous to do something like this, wants to maintain a semblance of order.

7. Obviously Frist doesn't have the votes so he can push the button.
so he's trying to save face by inviting Reid over for din din.
I hope Reid spits his food into Frist's face.

4. Earlier in the week I heard Frist was hinting at an option.
I think he realises that the public doesn't like this neuclear option and is trying to find a face saving way out. There were no specifics stated in the interview I heard, but it sure sounded like he's convinced it's a bad idea for HIM.
