Latest Wingnut Dirty Trick.....

I know this has been going on here and there for a while, but I think as far as call-in shows go (C-Span, Air America, et al) there seems to be a concerted effort for wingnuts to pose as Democrats and then slam the leadership or voice their support for Bolton etc.


Caught soemthing on Wash. Journal this morning from a caller statign he was a democrat, and then calling Democrats spineless wimps, and we need soemone like bolton....


there was also a couple on Sam Seder - i'm willing to bet they'll be hitting Randi up too....


(as i said - i know this nothing new - but these callers are well-prepped and seem sharper and more difficult to spot than your average wingnut)

maybe they deserve some payback.

1. Nothing new about this.

This is called "astroturf"(fake grass roots) and there are companies out there that provide this service for a fee. One company that sank a ton of money into astroturfing and financed the perfection of it was Microsoft.

And yes, this kind of "fake oppositional astroturfing" was part of it too.

The repukes have a long and rich history of this sort of thing. Look up the word "ratfucking" in the history of Watergate. This was exactly what they were up to.

2. As I said - i'm aware it's nothing new.....

i'm just saying that there is a concentrated effort going on RIGHT NOW - so it might be time for us to seed the phonebanks of the right with soem astroturf too.
